Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

And Moses returned unto Jehovah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.And Moses besought Jehovah his God, and said, Jehovah, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, that thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, saying, For evil did he bring them forth, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.And Jehovah repented of the evil which he said he would do unto his people.

And he said, If now I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I pray thee, go in the midst of us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

Then said Jehovah unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

And it came to pass that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, saith Jehovah.Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, the Lord Jehovah called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, cease, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.Jehovah repented concerning this: this also shall not be, saith the Lord Jehovah.

My little children, these things write I unto you that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.

For such a high priest became us, holy, guileless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

and said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we pray thee, our supplication be presented before thee, and pray for us unto Jehovah thy God, even for all this remnant( for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us),

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith Jehovah was wroth against you to destroy you. But Jehovah hearkened unto me that time also.And Jehovah was very angry with Aaron to destroy him: and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.

They have heard that thou Jehovah art in the midst of this people; for thou Jehovah art seen face to face, and thy cloud standeth over them, and thou goest before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.Now if thou shalt kill this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,Because Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.And now, I pray thee, let the power of the Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,Jehovah is slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.Pardon, I pray thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy lovingkindness, and according as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.And Jehovah said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou consume the righteous with the wicked?Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that so the righteous should be as the wicked; that be far from thee: shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?And Jehovah said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sake.And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, who am but dust and ashes:peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, I will not destroy it, if I find there forty and five.And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for the forty’s sake.And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the twenty’s sake.And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the ten’s sake.And Jehovah went his way, as soon as he had left off communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

When he slew them, then they inquired after him; And they returned and sought God earnestly.And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their redeemer.
