Then you shall say to the people,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.

又要对百姓说：‘你们应当自洁，预备明天吃肉，因为你们哭号说：谁给我们肉吃！我们在埃及很好。这声音达到了耶和华的耳中，所以他必给你们肉吃。

你要对百姓说：‘你们要为了明天使自己分别为圣，你们将有肉吃。因你们哭着说：谁给我们肉吃呢？我们在埃及多么好！这声音传到了耶和华的耳中，所以他必给你们肉吃。

爾語民曰、自潔為聖、以備明日食肉、蓋耶和華聞爾哭聲云、誰以肉食我、昔在埃及、我儕善矣、故耶和華將賜爾以肉、爾得食之、

告民潔己、明日可食肉、蓋我聞爾哭云、昔在埃及、我儕猶不為苦、今誰予我肉食乎。是故我將賜爾食肉。

亦告民曰、爾當潔己、以待明日、必得肉食、蓋爾號哭云、誰予我肉食、昔我儕在伊及為佳、此言主已聞矣、必賜爾肉食、

“ Tell the people:‘ Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, when you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you wailed,“ If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the Lord will give you meat, and you will eat it.

“ Tell the people,‘ Set yourselves apart for tomorrow. At that time you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you cried out. You said,“ We wish we had meat to eat. We were better off in Egypt.” Now the Lord will give you meat. And you will eat it.

And say to the people,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat, for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat? For it was better for us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.

“ And say to the people,‘ Purify yourselves, for tomorrow you will have meat to eat. You were whining, and the Lord heard you when you cried,“ Oh, for some meat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the Lord will give you meat, and you will have to eat it.

“ Tell the people: Consecrate yourselves in readiness for tomorrow, and you will eat meat because you wept in the LORD’s hearing,‘ Who will feed us meat? We were better off in Egypt.’ The LORD will give you meat and you will eat.

And you shall say to the people,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the ears of the Lord, saying,“ Oh that someone would give us meat to eat! For we were well off in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat and you shall eat.

And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to- morrow, and ye shall eat flesh; for ye have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore Jehovah will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

“ Tell the people: Purify yourselves in readiness for tomorrow, and you will eat meat because you cried before the Lord:‘ Who will feed us meat? We really had it good in Egypt.’ The Lord will give you meat and you will eat.

And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for[ it was] well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

“ And say to the people,‘ Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and you will eat meat, for you have wept in the hearing of the LORD, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat, for life was good for us in Egypt?” Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you will eat.

“ Say to the people,‘ Sanctify yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, and you will eat meat; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore Yahweh will give you meat, and you will eat.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.

Now when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp.

whom our fathers would not obey, but rejected. And in their hearts they turned back to Egypt,

And the children of Israel said to them,“ Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.”Then Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel,“ At evening you shall know that the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt.And in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord; for He hears your complaints against the Lord. But what are we, that you complain against us?”

And he said to the people,“ Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives.”

And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?”

Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said:“ Who will give us meat to eat?We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic;but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!”

And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him,“ Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments.

Get up, sanctify the people, and say,‘ sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel:“ There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”

Then the people came to the house of God, and remained there before God till evening. They lifted up their voices and wept bitterly,
