摩西聽見人民各家各人都在帳棚的出入處哭着，永恆主就大大發怒，摩西也不高興。

Moses heard the people of every family wailing at the entrance to their tents. The Lord became exceedingly angry, and Moses was troubled.

Moses heard the people weeping throughout their clans, everyone at the door of his tent. And the anger of the Lord blazed hotly, and Moses was displeased.

在帳棚裏埋怨着，不聽永恆主的聲音。

故此永恆主之向他的人民發怒，伸出手來擊打他們，山嶺就震動，他們的屍體就在街市中好像糞土。雖有這一切，永恆主的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍然伸着。

摩西、亞倫就召集了大眾到磐石前；摩西對他們說：『悖逆的人哪，聽吧！難道我們要叫水從這磐石中流出來給你們麼？』摩西舉手，用手杖把磐石擊打了兩下，就有許多水流了出來，會眾和他們的牲口都喝了。永恆主對摩西、亞倫說：『因為你們不信我，不在以色列人眼前尊我為聖，故此你們必不得領這大眾進我所賜給他們的地。』這些水是米利巴水，因為在那裏以色列人向永恆主吵鬧，永恆主在他們中間顯示為聖。

耶穌氣忿忿地周圍看着他們，因了他們心之頑梗而惻然憂愁，就對那人說：『伸出手來。』他一伸，他的手就復了原。

你必鬆手不能管理我所賜給你的產業；我必使你在不認識之地服事你的仇敵；因為你們在我怒氣中燒起火來，要直燒到永遠。』

上帝聽見就震怒，完全棄絕了以色列人。

摩西其人極為謙和，勝過地上萬人。

永恆主啊，恨惡你的、我哪不恨惡他們呢？討厭你的、我哪不討厭他們呢？

故此永恆主聽見，就震怒；有烈火向雅各燒起；有怒氣向以色列上騰；

於是眾人離開可拉、大坍、亞比蘭帳幕的四圍；大坍、亞比蘭就出來，站在自己帳棚的出入處，他們的妻子、兒女、和小孩、也都站着。

人民發了怨言、將苦處訴給永恆主聽；永恆主聽了，就發怒；永恆主的火便在他們中間燒着，燒燬了營盤一些邊地。

就說壞話攻擊上帝和摩西說：『你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，讓我們死在這曠野呢？這裏沒有食物、沒有水；這淡薄的食物，我們的胃口都憎厭了。』

當下全會眾就放聲嚷起來；那一夜人民都哭了。以色列眾人向摩西、亞倫發怨言；全會眾對他們說：『巴不得我們早死在埃及地！巴不得我們早死在這曠野！

他們因了米利巴水的緣故惹了永恆主的震怒，以致摩西為了他們的緣故也喫虧受損；因為他們使摩西的心靈受了苦惱，以致他嘴裏說出冒失的話。

耶穌看見就惱怒，對他們說：『容許小孩子來找我，別禁止他們了；因為上帝的國正是這樣的人的。

『因為我怒氣中有火燒起，直燒到陰間之最低處，把地和地的土產都燒滅掉，連山的根基也燒𤏲了。
