祭司七人、以角七、行於法匱前、越至七日、巡城凡七、祭司吹角、其聲清越、爾聞之、使民號呼、城垣傾圮、民得直進。嫩之子約書亞召祭司曰、當舁法匱、爾曹七人、以角七、行於耶和華法匱前、諭民曰、當環其城、使凡預備以戰者、行於耶和華法匱前。約書亞既命諸民、祭司七人、以角七、行於耶和華前、而吹其角、法匱從行於後。祭司吹角而行、預備以戰者先進、後軍繼至。約書亞曾諭民曰、勿號呼、勿言語、勿使聲聞、待我使爾號呼、則號呼。○耶和華之法匱巡城、環行一次、則反營壘宿焉。詰朝約書亞夙興、祭司舁耶和華法匱、祭司七人、以角七、行於法匱前吹角、預備以戰者先進、後軍繼至、祭司仍吹其角。至二日巡城一次、後反營壘、如是者六日。越至七日、黎明夙興、循例巡城凡七。越至七次、祭司吹角、約書亞諭民曰、今當號呼、蓋耶和華以斯城畀爾。
