但你多年寬容他們，又用你的靈、由你的神言人們經手勸告他們，他們仍不側耳聽從；因此你將他們交在四圍各地別族之民手中。

他們棄絕了永恆主的律例和他跟他們列祖所立的約，又棄絕了他所警諭他們的話，去隨從虛無的神，而成為虛妄，又隨從他們四圍的外國人、就是永恆主曾吩咐不可照他們的樣子行的。
