然爾矜憫靡涯、不棄斯民於野、晝仍導以雲、夜仍燭以火、其狀如柱、不論何往、時無間絕。

主仍大施矜憐、不棄之於野、晝則雲柱仍不離、導之於路、夜則火柱仍不熄、照其當行之路、

“ Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.

“ Because you loved them so much, you didn’t leave them in the desert. During the day the pillar of cloud didn’t stop guiding them on their path. At night the pillar of fire didn’t stop shining on the way you wanted them to go.

you in your great mercies did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud to lead them in the way did not depart from them by day, nor the pillar of fire by night to light for them the way by which they should go.

“ But in your great mercy you did not abandon them to die in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud still led them forward by day, and the pillar of fire showed them the way through the night.

you did not abandon them in the wilderness because of your great compassion. During the day the pillar of cloud never turned away from them, guiding them on their journey. And during the night the pillar of fire illuminated the way they should go.

You, in Your great compassion, Did not abandon them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, To guide them on their way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go.

Yet in Your manifold mercies You did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day, To lead them on the road; Nor the pillar of fire by night, To show them light, And the way they should go.

You did not abandon them in the wilderness because of Your great compassion. During the day the pillar of cloud never turned away from them, guiding them on their journey. And during the night the pillar of fire illuminated the way they should go.

Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.

yet you in your manifold mercies didn’t forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud didn’t depart from over them by day, to lead them in the way; neither did the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way in which they should go.

因此你將他們交在困迫他們、的人手中，去困迫他們；當他們受困迫的時候、他們向你哀叫，你就從天上垂聽，照你的大憐憫賜給他們拯救者、來拯救他們脫離困迫他們的人的手。

日間你又用雲柱領導他們，夜間又用火柱照亮他們所該走的路。

於是他為了他們的緣故就記起他的約，照他堅愛之豐盛而後悔；

日間、永恆主在他們的前面走，在雲柱中領導他們的路；夜間、在火柱中光照亮他們，使他們日夜都可以走路。日間雲柱、夜間火柱、總不離開人民的前面。

弟兄們，我不願意你們不明白、我們祖宗都在雲下，都從海中經過，都在雲中海中受了洗、歸於摩西，

在立起帳幕那一天、有雲彩遮蓋着帳幕、就是法櫃的帳棚；晚上有像火之形狀的在帳幕上頭、直到早晨。老是這樣：白天有雲彩遮蓋着帳幕，夜間有火的形狀。雲彩幾時從帳幕上被收上去，以色列人幾時就往前行；雲彩在甚麼地方停住，以色列人就在甚麼地方紮營。以色列人照永恆主所吩咐的往前行，也照永恆主所吩咐的紮營；儘雲彩在帳幕上頭停住的日子，他們就都住營。就是雲彩在帳幕上頭停留了許多日子，以色列人也守永恆主所吩咐守的、都不往前行。有時候雲彩在帳幕上頭有幾天，他們也是照永恆主所吩咐的來住營，照永恆主所吩咐的往前行。有時候從晚上到早晨有雲彩；早晨雲彩一被收上去，他們就往前行；或者是白晝是黑夜都有雲彩，雲彩一被收上去，他們也就往前行。儘雲彩在帳幕上頭停留的時候、在那上頭停住的或是兩天、或是一個月，或是很多天，以色列人總是住營，不往前行；雲彩一被收上去，他們就往前行。

然而我卻為我名的緣故而行事，免得我的名在列國人眼前被褻瀆，我領我人民出埃及就是在這些列國人眼前的。

我們的祖宗在埃及不明白你的奇事，沒有懷念你堅愛之豐盛，反而悖逆了至高者於蘆葦海。然而他為了他自己之名的緣故還拯救了他們，為要使人知道他的大能；

他們早已聽見永恆主你在這人民中間、永恆主你給人親眼相對地看見，你的雲彩停在他們上頭，你在他們前面領路、日間在雲柱中、而夜間在火柱中。

然而我卻為我名的緣故縮手而行事，免得我的名在列國人眼前被褻瀆，我領我人民出埃及就是在這些列國人眼前的。

我的上帝啊，傾耳以聽，睜眼而看我們荒涼之地和這稱為你名下的城哦；因為我們把懇求的話呈到你面前、並不是靠着我們自己的義，乃是靠着你的大憐憫。

雅各啊，你要懷念這些事；以色列啊，要懷念，因為是你做我僕人；我形成了你，是你做僕人歸於我；以色列啊，你必不會被我忘記。

那時永恆主必顯現，日間藉着雲和煙，夜間藉着火燄之明亮顯現於錫安山之全地址，和他人民的會眾上，因為全「榮現」之上他本身就是天篷和亭子，白日可以使人得陰涼避炎熱，也可以作為避難所和隱匿處、以躲避狂風暴雨或霖雨。

因為在他們所行的路站上、日間總有永恆主的雲彩在帳幕上，夜間總有火在其中，在以色列全家眼前。

『因為我、我永恆主是不改變的；而你們、雅各子孫哪、你們也沒有消沒。

永恆主為了他至大之名的緣故、必不丟棄他的人民，因為永恆主喜歡使你們做屬他的子民。

永恆主的堅愛永不斷絕，他的憐憫永不止息。

但是憐憫人赦免人的乃是主我們的上帝；因為我們背叛了他；

然而你大發憐憫，不將他們滅盡，不撇棄他們，因為你是有恩惠有憐憫的上帝。
