But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,

They remembered not his hand,[ nor] the day when he delivered them from the enemy.How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan:

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.For my thoughts[ are] not your thoughts, neither[ are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD.For[ as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he[ is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked[ him] with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:But murmured in their tents,[ and] hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked[ him] at the sea,[ even] at the Red sea.

The LORD[ is] longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing[ the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth[ generation].Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

The LORD[ is] merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.He will not always chide: neither will he keep[ his anger] for ever.He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.For as the heaven is high above the earth,[ so] great is his mercy toward them that fear him.As far as the east is from the west,[ so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.Like as a father pitieth[ his] children,[ so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we[ are] dust.[ As for] man, his days[ are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.But the mercy of the LORD[ is] from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.

Who[ is] a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth[ in] mercy.He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

But[ there is] forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know[ them], and be established in the present truth.Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting[ you] in remembrance;Knowing that shortly I must put off[ this] my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear[ the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth[ generation].

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

The LORD[ is] gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.The LORD[ is] good to all: and his tender mercies[ are] over all his works.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more[ shall not] we[ escape], if we turn away from him that[ speaketh] from heaven:

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
