They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,

They refused to listen to you. They forgot the miracles you had done among them. So they became stubborn. When they refused to obey you, they appointed a leader for themselves. They wanted to go back to being slaves in Egypt. But you are a God who forgives. You are gracious. You are tender and kind. You are slow to get angry. You are full of love. So you didn’t desert them.

They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them.

他们忘记了神的作为，和他显给他们看的奇事。

主啊！你是良善，又乐意饶恕人的，向你呼求的，你都以丰盛的慈爱待他们。

但是，主啊！你是有怜悯有恩典的神，你不轻易发怒，并且有极大的慈爱和信实。

他们忘记了他的能力（“他的能力”直译是“他的手”），就是他救赎他们脱离敌人的日子，他怎样在埃及显神迹，在琐安的田野行奇事。

恶人要离弃自己的道路，不义的人当除去自己的意念，回转过来归向耶和华，耶和华就必怜悯他。你们当回转过来归向我们的神，因为他大大赦免人的罪。耶和华说：“我的意念不是你们的意念，你们的道路也不是我的道路。天怎样高过地，我的道路也怎样高过你们的道路，我的意念也怎样高过你们的意念。

可是他们很快就忘记了他的作为，不仰望他的意旨，

你们要撕裂你们的心肠，不要撕裂你们的衣服。并要归向耶和华你们的神，因为他有恩典有怜悯，不轻易发怒，并且有丰盛的慈爱，随时转意不降灾祸。

神曾多次搭救他们，他们却故意悖逆，以致因自己的罪孽降为卑微。可是他听到了他们哀叫的时候，就垂顾他们的苦难。他为他们的缘故记念他自己的约，照着他丰盛的慈爱回心转意。他又使他们在所有掳掠他们的人面前，得蒙怜恤。

他却有怜悯，赦免罪孽，没有把他们灭绝，并且多次抑制自己的怒气，没有完全宣泄他的烈怒。

他们又轻视那美地，不信他的应许。他们在自己的帐棚里发怨言，不听从耶和华的话。

我们的列祖在埃及的时候，不明白你的奇事，也不记念你丰盛的慈爱，反倒在红海的海边悖逆了你。

‘耶和华不轻易发怒，且有丰盛的慈爱；他赦免罪孽和过犯；绝不以有罪的为无罪，必追讨罪孽，自父到子，直到三四代。’求你照着你的大慈爱，饶恕这人民的罪孽，好像你从埃及直到现在，常赦免这人民一样。”

耶和华为什么把我们领到这地来，死在刀剑之下呢？我们的妻子和孩子要被掳掠。我们回埃及去，岂不更好吗？”于是他们彼此说：“我们另立一个首领，回埃及去吧。”

耶和华有怜悯，有恩典，不轻易发怒，并且有丰盛的慈爱。他不长久责备，也不永远怀怒。他没有按着我们的罪过待我们，也没有照着我们的罪孽报应我们。天离地有多高，他的慈爱向敬畏他的人也有多大。东离西有多远，他使我们的过犯离我们也有多远。父亲怎样怜恤儿子，耶和华也照样怜恤敬畏他的人；因为他知道我们的本体，记得我们不过是尘土。至于世人，他的年日好像草一般；他又像野地繁茂的花。经风一吹，就归无有；他原来的地方再不认识他。但从亘古到永远，耶和华的慈爱临到敬畏他的人；他的公义也归于他们的子子孙孙，就是那些谨守他的约，记住他的训词，并且遵行的人。

况且你没有把我们领到流奶与蜜的地，也没有把田地和葡萄园给我们作产业。难道你要把这些人的眼睛剜出来吗？我们不上去。”

有何神像你，赦免罪孽，不追究产业之余民的过犯呢？他不永远怀怒，因为他喜爱怜悯。他必再怜爱我们，把我们的罪孽都践踏在脚下，又把我们（按照《马索拉文本》，“我们”作“他们”；现参照其他抄本、《七十士译本》和其他古译本翻译）的一切罪恶都投在深海里。

但你有赦免之恩，为要使人敬畏你。

因此，你们虽然已经知道这些事，又在你们已有的真道上得到坚固，我还要时常提醒你们。趁着我还在世上（“在世上”原文作“在这帐棚”）的时候，我认为应当提醒你们，使你们常常警醒，因为我知道我离世（“离世”原文作“离开这帐棚”）的时候快到了，正如我们的主耶稣基督清楚指示我的。我也要努力，使你们在我去世以后，还时常追念这些事。

耶和华在摩西面前经过，并且宣告说：“耶和华，耶和华，是有怜悯有恩典的神，不轻易发怒，并且有丰盛的慈爱和诚实，为千千万万人留下慈爱，赦免罪孽、过犯和罪恶。一定要清除罪，追讨罪孽自父及子至孙，直到三四代。”

我必住在以色列人中间，也必不离弃我的子民以色列。”

耶和华对摩西说：“这民藐视我要到几时呢？我虽然在他们中间行了这些神迹，他们还是不信我要到几时呢？

耶和华有恩典有怜悯，不轻易发怒，大有慈爱。耶和华善待万有，他的怜悯临到他一切所造的。

我们的祖先不肯听从他，反而把他推开，他们的心已经转向了埃及，

你们还不明白吗？你们是不是忘记了那五个饼分给五千人，又装满了多少个篮子呢？还是忘记了那七个饼分给四千人，又装满了多少个大篮子呢？我对你们讲的不是饼的事，你们为什么不明白？你们要提防法利赛人和撒都该人的酵。”

好使他恩典的荣耀得着颂赞。这恩典是他在爱子里赐给我们的。我们在他爱子里，藉着他的血蒙了救赎，过犯得到赦免，都是按着他丰盛的恩典。

摩西说：“你们为什么又违背耶和华的命令呢？这事必不能成功。

因为他对摩西说：“我要怜悯谁，就怜悯谁；我要恩待谁，就恩待谁。”

你们要谨慎，不要弃绝那位说话的，因为从前的人弃绝了那位在地上警戒他们的，尚且不能逃罪；何况现在我们背弃那位从天上警戒我们的呢？

我呼唤，你们不肯听从；我伸手，没有人理会。

愿耶和华我们的神与我们同在，像与我们的列祖同在一样。愿他不离弃我们，也不撇下我们。
