In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.

When the people were hungry, you gave them bread from heaven. When they were thirsty, you brought them water out of a rock. You told them to go into the land of Canaan. You told them to take it as their own. It was the land you had promised to give them.

And Moses said unto them, This[ is] the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

[ The people] asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places[ like] a river.

Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given[ them], flowing with milk and honey, which[ is] the glory of all lands;

Which turned the rock[ into] a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness,[ wherein were] fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where[ there was] no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts[ also].And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.This[ is] the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up[ and] possess[ it], as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.

Doubtless ye shall not come into the land,[ concerning] which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them,[ even] to the children of Israel.Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

Selah.The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.The voice of thy thunder[ was] in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.Thy way[ is] in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
