In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.

When the people were hungry, you gave them bread from heaven. When they were thirsty, you brought them water out of a rock. You told them to go into the land of Canaan. You told them to take it as their own. It was the land you had promised to give them.

耶和华对摩西说：“我要将粮食从天降给你们。百姓可以出去，每天收每天的份，我好试验他们遵不遵我的法度。

露水上升之后，不料，野地面上有如白霜的小圆物。以色列人看见，不知道是什么，就彼此对问说：“这是什么呢？”摩西对他们说：“这就是耶和华给你们吃的食物。

他们一求，他就使鹌鹑飞来，并用天上的粮食叫他们饱足。他打开磐石，水就涌出；在干旱之处，水流成河。

并且我在旷野向他们起誓，必不领他们进入我所赐给他们流奶与蜜之地，那地在万国中是有荣耀的；

他叫磐石变为水池，叫坚石变为泉源。

我们的祖宗在旷野吃过吗哪，如经上写着说：‘他从天上赐下粮来给他们吃。’”耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，那从天上来的粮不是摩西赐给你们的，乃是我父将天上来的真粮赐给你们。因为神的粮就是那从天上降下来、赐生命给世界的。”他们说：“主啊，常将这粮赐给我们！”耶稣说：“我就是生命的粮。到我这里来的，必定不饿；信我的，永远不渴。

他苦炼你，任你饥饿，将你和你列祖所不认识的吗哪赐给你吃，使你知道，人活着不是单靠食物，乃是靠耶和华口里所出的一切话。

引你经过那大而可怕的旷野，那里有火蛇、蝎子、干旱无水之地。他曾为你使水从坚硬的磐石中流出来，又在旷野将你列祖所不认识的吗哪赐给你吃，是要苦炼你，试验你，叫你终久享福；

你也赐下你良善的灵教训他们；未尝不赐吗哪使他们糊口，并赐水解他们的渴。

降吗哪，像雨给他们吃，将天上的粮食赐给他们。各人吃大能者的食物；他赐下粮食，使他们饱足。

耶和华晓谕摩西说：“你拿着杖去，和你的哥哥亚伦招聚会众，在他们眼前吩咐磐石发出水来，水就从磐石流出，给会众和他们的牲畜喝。”于是摩西照耶和华所吩咐的，从耶和华面前取了杖去。摩西、亚伦就招聚会众到磐石前。摩西说：“你们这些背叛的人听我说：我为你们使水从这磐石中流出来吗？”摩西举手，用杖击打磐石两下，就有许多水流出来，会众和他们的牲畜都喝了。耶和华对摩西、亚伦说：“因为你们不信我，不在以色列人眼前尊我为圣，所以你们必不得领这会众进我所赐给他们的地去。”这水名叫米利巴水，是因以色列人向耶和华争闹，耶和华就在他们面前显为圣。

看哪，耶和华你的神已将那地摆在你面前，你要照耶和华你列祖的神所说的上去得那地为业；不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。’

必不得进我起誓应许叫你们住的那地；惟有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒和嫩的儿子约书亚才能进去。

“我的仆人摩西死了。现在你要起来，和众百姓过这约旦河，往我所要赐给以色列人的地去。凡你们脚掌所踏之地，我都照着我所应许摩西的话赐给你们了。从旷野和这黎巴嫩，直到幼发拉底大河，赫人的全地，又到大海日落之处，都要作你们的境界。

你曾用你的膀臂赎了你的民，就是雅各和约瑟的子孙。细拉神啊，诸水见你，一见就都惊惶；深渊也都战抖。云中倒出水来；天空发出响声；你的箭也飞行四方。你的雷声在旋风中；电光照亮世界；大地战抖震动。你的道在海中；你的路在大水中；你的脚踪无人知道。你曾藉摩西和亚伦的手引导你的百姓，好像羊群一般。
