And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.Therefore I esteem all[ thy] precepts[ concerning] all[ things to be] right;[ and] I hate every false way.

These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness,( for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me,[ even] all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.For who[ is there of] all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we[ have], and lived?

Thy word[ is] true[ from] the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments[ endureth] for ever.

[ Specially] the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and[ that] they may teach their children.And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only[ ye heard] a voice.And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform,[ even] ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that[ it is] good.

The law of the LORD[ is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD[ is] sure, making wise the simple.The statutes of the LORD[ are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD[ is] pure, enlightening the eyes.The fear of the LORD[ is] clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD[ are] true[ and] righteous altogether.More to be desired[ are they] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.Moreover by them is thy servant warned:[ and] in keeping of them[ there is] great reward.

And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which[ voice] they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:( For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:And so terrible was the sight,[ that] Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than[ that of] Abel.See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more[ shall not] we[ escape], if we turn away from him that[ speaketh] from heaven:Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that[ was] in the camp trembled.And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses[ up] to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

Did[ ever] people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

When thou didst terrible things[ which] we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which[ if] a man do, he shall even live in them.Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I[ am] the LORD that sanctify them.But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which[ if] a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

And what nation[ is there so] great, that hath statutes and judgments[ so] righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,

TZADDI. Righteous[ art] thou, O LORD, and upright[ are] thy judgments.

And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand[ went] a fiery law for them.

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

Wherefore the law[ is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
