“ You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good.

而我愛你的誡命，勝過金子，勝過純金，因此在一切事上，你所有的訓誡，我都視為合宜；我恨惡一切虛假的路。

你的每一句話都真實可信，你一切公義的法規都存到永遠。

那麼，如果我做我不願意做的事，我就贊同了律法是好的。

耶和華的律法純全，使人靈魂甦醒；耶和華的法度信實，使無知的人有智慧；耶和華的訓誡正直，使人心歡喜；耶和華的誡命純潔，使人眼目明亮；對耶和華的敬畏是純淨的，存留到永遠；耶和華的法規是真實的，全然公義；它們比金子、比大量的純金更珍貴；比蜂蜜、比蜂巢下滴的蜜更甘甜。而且你的僕人也藉著它們受警戒，遵守它們就有豐盛的賞賜。

你們並不是來到了摸得著的山、燃燒著的火、陰雲、幽暗、風暴、號角的響聲和說話的聲音面前——那些聽見這聲音的人，都懇求不要再向他們說話了，因為他們擔當不了那吩咐他們的話：「即使是野獸觸摸這山，也要用石頭砸死。」那景象實在可怕，連摩西也說：「我非常害怕戰兢。」相反，你們卻是來到了錫安山、永生神的城、天上的耶路撒冷面前；來到了千萬天使的盛會面前；來到了長子們的教會面前——他們的名字已經登記在天上；來到了神面前——他是萬人的審判者；來到了義人的靈魂面前——他們得以完全；來到了耶穌面前——他是新約的中保；來到了所灑的血面前——這血比亞伯的血所述說的更美好。你們要當心，不要拒絕向你們說話的那一位。要知道，那些拒絕了在地上警告他們的，尚且無法逃脫懲罰，更何況我們背棄從天上警告我們的那一位呢！那時候，他的聲音震動了大地，但如今他應許說：「我不僅要再一次震動地，而且還要震動天。」

你行了可畏之事，是我們沒有預料的；那時你就降臨，群山在你面前震動。

耶和華啊，你是公義的，你的法規是正直的！

願你裂天降臨，願群山在你面前震動

因此，律法是神聖的，誡命也是神聖、公義、美善的。那麼，是那美善的導致了我的死嗎？絕對不是！而是罪。罪為要顯出是罪，就藉著那美善的帶來了我的死，使罪藉著誡命變得極其邪惡。我們知道律法是屬靈的；而我是屬肉體的，已經賣給罪了。
