而我爱你的诫命，胜过金子，胜过纯金，因此在一切事上，你所有的训诫，我都视为合宜；我恨恶一切虚假的路。

你的每一句话都真实可信，你一切公义的法规都存到永远。

那么，如果我做我不愿意做的事，我就赞同了律法是好的。

耶和华的律法纯全，使人灵魂苏醒；耶和华的法度信实，使无知的人有智慧；耶和华的训诫正直，使人心欢喜；耶和华的诫命纯洁，使人眼目明亮；对耶和华的敬畏是纯净的，存留到永远；耶和华的法规是真实的，全然公义；它们比金子、比大量的纯金更珍贵；比蜂蜜、比蜂巢下滴的蜜更甘甜。而且你的仆人也藉着它们受警戒，遵守它们就有丰盛的赏赐。

你们并不是来到了摸得着的山、燃烧着的火、阴云、幽暗、风暴、号角的响声和说话的声音面前——那些听见这声音的人，都恳求不要再向他们说话了，因为他们担当不了那吩咐他们的话：“即使是野兽触摸这山，也要用石头砸死。”那景象实在可怕，连摩西也说：“我非常害怕战兢。”相反，你们却是来到了锡安山、永生神的城、天上的耶路撒冷面前；来到了千万天使的盛会面前；来到了长子们的教会面前——他们的名字已经登记在天上；来到了神面前——他是万人的审判者；来到了义人的灵魂面前——他们得以完全；来到了耶稣面前——他是新约的中保；来到了所洒的血面前——这血比亚伯的血所述说的更美好。你们要当心，不要拒绝向你们说话的那一位。要知道，那些拒绝了在地上警告他们的，尚且无法逃脱惩罚，更何况我们背弃从天上警告我们的那一位呢！那时候，他的声音震动了大地，但如今他应许说：“我不仅要再一次震动地，而且还要震动天。”

你行了可畏之事，是我们没有预料的；那时你就降临，群山在你面前震动。

耶和华啊，你是公义的，你的法规是正直的！

愿你裂天降临，愿群山在你面前震动

因此，律法是神圣的，诫命也是神圣、公义、美善的。那么，是那美善的导致了我的死吗？绝对不是！而是罪。罪为要显出是罪，就藉着那美善的带来了我的死，使罪藉着诫命变得极其邪恶。我们知道律法是属灵的；而我是属肉体的，已经卖给罪了。
