Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and teacher of the Law, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all,“ This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.

Nehemiah was the governor. Ezra was a priest and the teacher of the Law. They spoke up. So did the Levites who were teaching the people. All these men said to the people,“ This day is set apart to honor the Lord your God. So don’t weep. Don’t be sad.” All the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.

And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people,“ This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law.

有些族長為工程捐助。省長捐入庫房中的有一千達利克金子，五十個碗，五百三十件祭司的禮服。

在節期中，你和你的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人、寄居的和孤兒寡婦，都要歡樂。在耶和華所選擇的地方，你要向耶和華－你的神守節七日，因為耶和華－你的神要在你一切的收成上和你手裏所做的一切賜福給你，你就非常歡樂。

「你要吩咐以色列人說：七月初一，你們要守為完全安息的日子，要吹角作紀念，當有聖會。

你和你的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人、在你中間寄居的和孤兒寡婦，都要在那裏，耶和華－你神選擇作為他名居所的地方，在耶和華－你神面前歡樂。

省長對他們說，不可吃至聖的物，直到有會用烏陵和土明的祭司興起來。

「七月初一，你們當有聖會；任何勞動的工都不可做，是你們當守為吹角的日子。你們要將一頭公牛犢、一隻公綿羊、七隻一歲的小公羊，都是沒有殘疾的，獻給耶和華為馨香的燔祭。要同時獻調了油的細麵為素祭：每頭公牛要獻十分之三伊法；每隻公綿羊要獻十分之二伊法；為那七隻小公羊，每隻要獻十分之一伊法。此外，要獻一隻公山羊作贖罪祭，為你們贖罪。除了初一的燔祭和同獻的素祭、經常獻的燔祭與同獻的素祭，以及同獻的澆酒祭以外，這些都照例作為馨香的火祭獻給耶和華。」

以前沒有律法的時候，我是活的；但是誡命來到，罪活起來，

亞達薛西王賜給精通耶和華誡命和以色列律例的文士以斯拉祭司的諭旨，抄本如下：

為錫安悲哀的人，賜華冠代替灰燼，喜樂的油代替悲哀，讚美為衣代替憂傷的靈；稱他們為「公義樹」，是耶和華所栽植的，為要彰顯他的榮耀。

我守喪的時候，沒有吃這聖物，不潔淨的時候，也沒有拿出來，又沒有把它獻給死人。我聽從了耶和華－我神的話，都照你一切所吩咐的做了。

他對那歸耶和華為聖、教導以色列眾人的利未人說：「你們將聖約櫃安放在以色列王大衛兒子所羅門建造的殿裏，不必再用肩扛抬。現在你們要服事耶和華－你們的神和他的百姓以色列。

耶書亞、巴尼、示利比、雅憫、亞谷、沙比太、荷第雅、瑪西雅、基利他、亞撒利雅、約撒拔、哈難、毗萊雅和利未人使百姓明白律法；百姓都站在自己的地方。他們清清楚楚地念神的律法書，講明意思，使百姓明白所念的。

希西家慰勞所有精通禮儀，事奉耶和華的利未人。於是眾人吃節期的筵席七日，又獻平安祭，並且稱謝耶和華－他們列祖的神。

就是聽見我指着這地方和其上的居民說，要使這地方變為荒蕪、百姓受詛咒的話，你的心就軟化，在耶和華面前謙卑下來，撕裂衣服，向我哭泣，因此我應允你。這是耶和華說的。

如今我歡喜，不是因你們曾憂愁，而是因憂愁導致你們的悔改。你們依着神的意思憂愁，凡事就不至於因我們受虧損了。因為依着神的意思而憂愁，就生出沒有懊悔的悔改來，以致得救；但世俗的憂愁叫人死。你看，你們依着神的意思而憂愁，這在你們當中產生了何等的殷勤、甚至辯白、甚至憤慨、甚至恐懼、甚至渴望、甚至熱忱、甚至責罰。在這一切事上，你們都表明自己是無可指責的。

我的百姓因無知識而滅亡。你拋棄知識，我也必拋棄你，使你不再作我的祭司。你既忘了你神的律法，我也必忘記你的兒女。

這些人都在約撒達的孫子，耶書亞的兒子約雅金和尼希米省長，以及以斯拉祭司文士的時代供職。

王聽見律法書上的話，就撕裂衣服。

所以，凡血肉之軀沒有一個能因律法的行為而在神面前稱義，因為律法本是要人認識罪。

以色列人不信真神，沒有訓誨的祭司，也沒有律法，已經許多日子了。

你們又再做這樣的事，使哭泣和嘆息的眼淚遮蓋耶和華的祭壇，以致耶和華不再理會那供物，也不喜歡從你們的手中收納。

王聽見律法的話，就撕裂衣服。

「你們去，以所發現這書上的話，為我、為以色列和猶大倖存的人求問耶和華；因為我們的祖先沒有遵守耶和華的話，沒有照這書上所記的一切去做，耶和華的烈怒就倒在我們身上。」
