My God placed it on my heart to gather the leaders, the officials, and the ordinary people so they could be enrolled on the basis of genealogy. I found the genealogical records of those who had formerly returned. Here is what I found written in that record:

My God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be listed by genealogy. I found the book of the genealogy of those who came up at the first, and I found this written in it:

这三家的人在族谱之中寻查自己的谱系，却寻不着，因此算为不洁，不准供祭司的职任。

我的神啊，多比雅、参巴拉、女先知挪亚底，和其余的先知要叫我惧怕，求你记念他们所行的这些事。

然而，我今日成了何等人，是蒙神的恩才成的，并且他所赐我的恩不是徒然的。我比众使徒格外劳苦；这原不是我，乃是神的恩与我同在。

并不是我们凭自己能承担什么事；我们所能承担的，乃是出于神。

我也为此劳苦，照着他在我里面运用的大能尽心竭力。

以色列人都按家谱计算，写在以色列诸王记上。犹大人因犯罪就被掳到巴比伦。先从巴比伦回来，住在自己地业城邑中的有以色列人、祭司、利未人、尼提宁的首领。住在耶路撒冷的有犹大人、便雅悯人、以法莲人、玛拿西人。犹大儿子法勒斯的子孙中有乌太。乌太是亚米忽的儿子；亚米忽是暗利的儿子；暗利是音利的儿子；音利是巴尼的儿子。示罗的子孙中有长子亚帅雅和他的众子。谢拉的子孙中有耶乌利和他的弟兄，共六百九十人。便雅悯人中有哈西努的曾孙、何达威雅的孙子、米书兰的儿子撒路，又有耶罗罕的儿子伊比尼雅，米基立的孙子、乌西的儿子以拉，伊比尼雅的曾孙、流珥的孙子、示法提雅的儿子米书兰，和他们的族弟兄，按着家谱计算共有九百五十六名。这些人都是他们的族长。

我亲爱的弟兄们，不要看错了。

这样看来，我亲爱的弟兄，你们既是常顺服的，不但我在你们那里，就是我如今不在你们那里，更是顺服的，就当恐惧战兢做成你们得救的工夫。因为你们立志行事都是神在你们心里运行，为要成就他的美意。
