So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families. I found the genealogical record of those who had been the first to return. This is what I found written there:

My God placed it on my heart to gather the leaders, the officials, and the ordinary people so they could be enrolled on the basis of genealogy. I found the genealogical records of those who had formerly returned. Here is what I found written in that record:

My God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be listed by genealogy. I found the book of the genealogy of those who came up at the first, and I found this written in it:

这些人查考族谱的记录，却找不着，因此他们算为不洁净，不能作祭司。

“我的神啊，求你记住多比雅和参巴拉，按着他们所行的报应他们；也要报应女先知挪亚底和其余的先知，因为他们恐吓我。”

然而靠着神的恩典，我得以有了今天，而且他赐给我的恩典并没有落空；我比众使徒格外劳苦，其实不是我，而是神的恩典与我同在。

我们不敢以为自己有资格作什么，我们所能够作的是出于神。

我也为了这事劳苦，按着他用大能在我心中运行的动力，竭力奋斗。

以斯拉说：“耶和华我们列祖的神是应该称颂的，因为他把这样的意念放在君王的心里，使他修饰那在耶路撒冷的耶和华的殿；

“我的神啊，求你记念我，记念我为这人民所作的一切事，施恩给我。”

全体以色列人都照着家谱登记，都写在“以色列诸王记”上；犹大人因为悖逆，就被掳到巴比伦去。那些最先回来，住在自己的地业、自己的城中的，有以色列人、祭司、利未人和作殿役的。在耶路撒冷居住的，有犹大支派、便雅悯支派、以法莲支派和玛拿西支派的人。犹大的儿子法勒斯的子孙中，有乌太；乌太是亚米忽的儿子，亚米忽是暗利的儿子；暗利是音利的儿子，音利是巴尼的儿子。示罗的子孙中，有长子亚帅雅和他的众子。谢拉的子孙中，有耶乌利和他们的亲族，共六百九十人。便雅悯的子孙中，有哈西努的曾孙、何达威雅的孙子、米书兰的儿子撒路；又有耶罗罕的儿子伊比尼雅，米基立的孙子、乌西的儿子以拉，以及伊比尼雅的曾孙、流珥的孙子、示法提雅的儿子米书兰，还有他们的众亲族；按着他们的家谱登记，共有九百五十六人。以上这些人都是他们各家族的首领。

我亲爱的弟兄们，不要看错了。

这样看来，我所亲爱的，你们素来是顺服的，（不但我在你们那里的时候是这样，现今我不在，你们更要顺服，）就应当恐惧战兢地作成自己的救恩。神为了成全自己的美意，就在你们里面动工，使你们可以立志和行事。

这些人查考族谱的记录，却找不着，因此他们算为不洁净，不能作祭司。

感谢神，他把我对你们那样的热情，放在提多的心里。
