and have even appointed prophets to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem:‘ There is a king in Judah!’ Now this report will get back to the king; so come, let us meet together.”

爾命先知在耶路撒冷、指爾而宣告曰、在猶大有王矣、此言必傳於王、故請至此、爾我相議、

爾使先知托神言、謂爾當為猶大王、都耶路撒冷、吾恐人以此奏王、故請爾至此、與我相議耳。

爾亦立先知、使在耶路撒冷宣告爾為猶大王、恐此事難免王聞、故請爾來與我相議、

People say that you have even appointed prophets to make an announcement about you. In Jerusalem they are going to say,‘ Judah has a king!’ That report will get back to the king of Persia. So come. Let’s meet together.”

And you have also set up prophets to proclaim concerning you in Jerusalem,‘ There is a king in Judah.’ And now the king will hear of these reports. So now come and let us take counsel together.”

He also reports that you have appointed prophets in Jerusalem to proclaim about you,‘ Look! There is a king in Judah!’“ You can be very sure that this report will get back to the king, so I suggest that you come and talk it over with me.”

and have even set up the prophets in Jerusalem to proclaim on your behalf,“ There is a king in Judah.” These rumors will be heard by the king. So come, let’s confer together.

I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me.

But now Adonijah has become king, and you, my lord the king, do not know about it.

Then Absalom sent secret messengers throughout the tribes of Israel to say,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpets, then say,‘ Absalom is king in Hebron.’”Two hundred men from Jerusalem had accompanied Absalom. They had been invited as guests and went quite innocently, knowing nothing about the matter.While Absalom was offering sacrifices, he also sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, to come from Giloh, his hometown. And so the conspiracy gained strength, and Absalom’s following kept on increasing.

Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbor deceit.Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts.Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

Adonijah conferred with Joab son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest, and they gave him their support.

Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him before you on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about his case. We are ready to kill him before he gets here.”

Today he has gone down and sacrificed great numbers of cattle, fattened calves, and sheep. He has invited all the king’s sons, the commanders of the army and Abiathar the priest. Right now they are eating and drinking with him and saying,‘ Long live King Adonijah!’

There have Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel. Blow the trumpet and shout,‘ Long live King Solomon!’
