And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying,[ There is] a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.

爾命先知在耶路撒冷、指爾而宣告曰、在猶大有王矣、此言必傳於王、故請至此、爾我相議、

爾使先知托神言、謂爾當為猶大王、都耶路撒冷、吾恐人以此奏王、故請爾至此、與我相議耳。

爾亦立先知、使在耶路撒冷宣告爾為猶大王、恐此事難免王聞、故請爾來與我相議、

and have even appointed prophets to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem:‘ There is a king in Judah!’ Now this report will get back to the king; so come, let us meet together.”

People say that you have even appointed prophets to make an announcement about you. In Jerusalem they are going to say,‘ Judah has a king!’ That report will get back to the king of Persia. So come. Let’s meet together.”

And you have also set up prophets to proclaim concerning you in Jerusalem,‘ There is a king in Judah.’ And now the king will hear of these reports. So now come and let us take counsel together.”

He also reports that you have appointed prophets in Jerusalem to proclaim about you,‘ Look! There is a king in Judah!’“ You can be very sure that this report will get back to the king, so I suggest that you come and talk it over with me.”

and have even set up the prophets in Jerusalem to proclaim on your behalf,“ There is a king in Judah.” These rumors will be heard by the king. So come, let’s confer together.

You have also appointed prophets to proclaim in Jerusalem concerning you,‘ A king is in Judah!’ And now it will be reported to the king according to these reports. So come now, let’s consult together.”

And you have also appointed prophets to proclaim concerning you at Jerusalem, saying,“ There is a king in Judah!” Now these matters will be reported to the king. So come, therefore, and let us consult together.

And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.Therefore[ was] he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and[ that] they might have[ matter] for an evil report, that they might reproach me.

And now, behold, Adonijah reigneth; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest[ it] not:

But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron.And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem,[ that were] called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing.And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counsellor, from his city,[ even] from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for[ there are] seven abominations in his heart.[ Whose] hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the[ whole] congregation.

And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped[ him].

Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow ye with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.
