He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me.

They had hired him to scare me. They wanted me to commit a sin by doing what he said. That would give me a bad name in the community. People would find fault with me and my work.

For this purpose he was hired, that I should be afraid and act in this way and sin, and so they could give me a bad name in order to taunt me.

諳悉仁義、服膺我法者、宜聽我言、人侮慢爾、爾勿畏葸。

民中婦女、所言皆臆說、人子、爾當告之云、主耶和華曰、製枕以枕肱、作巾以蔽首、欲陷人於罪者、其有禍乎、爾既陷人於罪、豈能自免於難乎。爾欲得一掬之麥、一方之餅、迷惑我民、聽爾妄誕、偽託我名、民之不當死者、爾言必死、當死者、爾言必生、故我耶和華曰、爾製枕誘惑斯民、我必奪之、救爾所陷之人、亦裂爾巾、以救我民、不為爾所陷、使知我乃耶和華。作善者流、我不使之殷憂、爾述妄誕、使彼中心戚戚、維彼惡人、爾言必生、使心剛愎、恆作惡事、終不悛改、故虛偽之異象、爾不得復睹、無憑之卜筮、爾不得復占、我必救民於爾手、使知我乃耶和華。

貨財不如令聞、金銀孰若恩寵。

芬芳之品、不如令聞、初生之時、不如死日。

凡猶豫不信、可憎兇暴淫亂巫覡、拜偶像、言誕妄者、皆必受苦於火坑、坑有硫火、沒後之沉淪如此、

余昔行是、今亦將行是、彼所謀者、吾絕其謀、使其自詡、卒無異我、

蓋上帝賜我儕、非畏難之心、乃勇行、仁愛、順理、

殺身而不能殺魂者、勿懼、惟能殺身及魂於地獄者、甚可懼也、

監督州牧、伺但以理之隙、欲因其治之不善、而訟之於王、惟但以理竭其忠忱、無疵可摘、彼此相告曰、但以理恆遵上帝禮儀、非指此一端、則不得其故以訟之、

𠵽唎㘔人出而共謀、欲即其言罟陷之、

爾敬恪者誰、反悖逆予、不以予為意、予不罪爾、爾益無忌憚、

祭司諸長、長老、全公會、求妄證攻耶穌、欲死之、

耶和華曰、我慰藉爾、斯世之人、俱將淪亡、儗於草萊、何為畏之。我耶和華肇造爾邦、張舒穹蒼、奠定寰宇、爾何為忘予、恆畏強暴之人、恐其烈怒、滅爾邦家、然彼怒雖烈、焉能有為。

惟爾束腰、勃然而興、盡述我命、勿畏其威。否則我必使爾驚懼特甚。

設證誣之曰、此人僭妄聖所律法不已、
