我身如人之身、我子如人之子、今使子女為奴、我中已有數女為婢、欲免此而無力、蓋我之田畝葡萄園、為人所有、

我及我子、與同宗何異、奚以我之子女、為人服役、我有數女為人所玷、欲拯無能、我之田園、為人所據。

我身與同族之身無異、我子女與同族之子女無異、今不得已將子女鬻為奴婢、我女早有為婢者、贖之無力、蓋我田畝葡萄園、已為人所得、

Although we are of the same flesh and blood as our fellow Jews and though our children are as good as theirs, yet we have to subject our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but we are powerless, because our fields and our vineyards belong to others.”

We belong to the same family lines as the rest of our people. Our children are as good as theirs. But we’ve had to sell them off as slaves. Some of our daughters have already been made slaves. But we can’t do anything about it. That’s because our fields and vineyards now belong to others.”

Now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but it is not in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

We belong to the same family as those who are wealthy, and our children are just like theirs. Yet we must sell our children into slavery just to get enough money to live. We have already sold some of our daughters, and we are helpless to do anything about it, for our fields and vineyards are already mortgaged to others.”

We and our children are just like our countrymen and their children, yet we are subjecting our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters are already enslaved, but we are powerless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”

And now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers, our children like their children. Yet behold, we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters are forced into bondage already, and we are helpless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”

Some of our daughters have been subjected to slavery, while we are powerless to help, since our fields and vineyards now belong to other people.”

Behold, we bring our sons and our daughters into bondage to be servants, and some of our daughters have been brought into bondage. It is also not in our power to help it, because other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

「如果你們的同胞窮得把自己賣給你們，不可把他當作奴隸，要待他像雇工和寄居者一樣。他要為你工作到禧年。到了禧年，他和孩子們便可以離開你們，回到自己的宗族和祖業。因為以色列人是我的僕人，是我從埃及帶出來的，所以他們不可賣身為奴。你們也不可苛待他們，要敬畏你們的上帝。

把你們的食物分給饑餓的人，接待無家可歸的窮人，送衣服給赤身露體的人，不躲避求助的親人。

不如把他賣給以實瑪利人，不要下手害他，他畢竟是我們的弟弟，我們的骨肉啊！」其他弟兄都贊成他的意見。

拉班高興地說：「你真是我的骨肉之親啊！」雅各在拉班家裡住了一個月。

「你要向百姓頒佈下列法令。你若買一個希伯來人當奴僕，他必須服侍你六年，到第七年便可以獲得自由，不用支付任何贖金。倘若買他的時候，他是單身，那麼期滿的時候，他可以單身離開。如果他跟妻子一同被買，就可以帶妻子一起離開。倘若主人給他娶了妻，妻子生了兒女，那麼期滿的時候，他只能單獨離開，他的妻兒要歸主人。倘若奴僕說，『我愛我的主人和我的妻子兒女，我不願意離開他們做自由人。』主人就要帶他到審判官面前，讓他靠著門或門框，用錐子為他穿耳洞。這樣，他就要永遠服侍主人。倘若有人把女兒賣為奴婢，她不可像男僕那樣離開。倘若買她的主人本想把她留在身邊，後來卻不喜歡她，就應當讓她贖身。主人無權把她轉賣給外族人，因為是主人對她不守信用。倘若是買來給自己的兒子，就要把她當作自己的女兒一般看待。倘若有人娶了奴婢為妻，後來又另娶，他還是要照常供給她飯食和衣服，並履行同房的義務。倘若主人不履行以上的三個條件，奴婢就可以隨時離開，不用繳付任何贖金。

因為這個人無法清還債款，王就下令把他及其妻兒和所有財產全部賣掉還債。

我親愛的弟兄姊妹，請聽我說，上帝不是揀選了窮人，使他們在信心上富足，並承受祂應許賜給那些愛祂之人的國度嗎？你們反倒侮辱窮人。其實欺壓你們、抓你們上法庭的不是那些富人嗎？
