所以我親愛的弟兄們，你們要堅定、不搖動，時常充溢出主的工，因為知道你們的勞苦在主裏面不是空的。

因為我這裏沒有別的知己、真真掛念你們事的那樣人；因為眾人都謀求着自己的事，不謀求基督耶穌的事。

我們從沒用過諂媚的話，你們知道；也沒有用過貪婪的掩飾，上帝可以作證。我們做基督的使徒、雖能居於受人尊重之地位，卻不向人求榮耀，不向你們，也不向別人；不，我們在你們中間反而溫和柔順，如同乳母撫育自己的兒女一般。

我們行好事、總不可喪志；若不灰心，到了適當時候、就可收成。

我沒有貪圖過一個人的金銀或服裝。你們自己知道，我這兩隻手供應了我和我同伴的需用。我凡事給你們做榜樣，讓你們知道應當這樣勞苦、扶助軟弱的人，記念主耶穌的話；他自己說過：「給予比接受更為有福」』。

對依行善之堅忍去尋求榮耀尊貴和不朽的人呢、是永生；

但那在好土裏的、是那以誠實而善良之心聽了道的；他們持守着，又在堅忍中結實。

摩西非常惱怒，對永恆主說：『求你不要顧到他們的供物；我並沒有拿走他們一匹驢，也沒有害過他們一個人呀。』

罷了！我沒有拖累着你們，我卻是『乖性狡猾，用詭詐牢籠你們的』！我所差遣到你們那裏去的人、我何曾藉着其中的哪一位去佔你們的便宜呢？我勸了提多到你們那裏去，又差遣那位兄弟一同去；提多何曾佔了你們的便宜呢？我們沒有順着同一的靈而行麼？沒有跟着同一個的腳蹤麼？
