在他的兄弟和撒玛利亚的军队面前，说：“这些软弱的犹大人在作什么呢？想自己修筑城墙吗？想要献祭吗？想要在一天之内完成吗？想要使废土堆中被火烧过的石头复活吗？”

他在他的族弟兄和撒瑪利亞的軍兵面前說：『嘿！這些衰弱憔悴的猶大人要作甚麼？他們要奮不顧身麼？要宰獻祭牲動工麼？要在一天之內就作完麼？他們要從塵土廢堆中拿火燒過的石頭把它重新建造起來麼？』

告其同宗、及撒瑪利亞軍旅曰、此荏弱之猶大人何為、豈欲自衛乎、豈欲獻祭乎、豈能一日成之乎、豈於瓦礫之場、復起被焚之石乎、

and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said,“ What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble— burned as they are?”

He spoke to his friends and the army of Samaria. He said,“ What are those Jews trying to do? Can they make their city wall like new again? Will they offer sacrifices? Can they finish everything in a single day? The stones from their city wall and buildings are piled up like trash. And everything has been badly burned. Can they use those stones to rebuild everything again?”

And he said in the presence of his brothers and of the army of Samaria,“ What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they restore it for themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will they finish up in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, and burned ones at that?”

saying in front of his friends and the Samarian army officers,“ What does this bunch of poor, feeble Jews think they’re doing? Do they think they can build the wall in a single day by just offering a few sacrifices? Do they actually think they can make something of stones from a rubbish heap— and charred ones at that?”

before his colleagues and the powerful men of Samaria and said,“ What are these pathetic Jews doing? Can they restore it by themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they ever finish it? Can they bring these burnt stones back to life from the mounds of rubble?”

And he spoke in the presence of his brothers and the wealthy people of Samaria and said,“ What are these feeble Jews doing? Are they going to restore the temple for themselves? Can they offer sacrifices? Can they finish it in a day? Can they revive the stones from the heaps of rubble, even the burned ones?”

And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said,“ What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish— stones that are burned?”

And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What are these feeble Jews doing? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, seeing they are burned?

before his colleagues and the powerful men of Samaria, and said,“ What are these pathetic Jews doing? Can they restore it by themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they ever finish it? Can they bring these burnt stones back to life from the mounds of rubble?”

He spoke before his brothers and the army of Samaria, and said,“ What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will they finish in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, since they are burned?”

但是，上帝揀選了世上愚拙的，為了使有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，為了使強壯的羞愧。

但猶大有話說：「扛抬的人力氣衰弱，瓦礫太多，我們自己不可能建造城牆。」

耶和華啊，我聽見你的名聲；耶和華啊，我懼怕你的作為。求你在這些年間復興你的作為，在這些年間將它顯明出來；在發怒的時候以憐憫為念。

為耶路撒冷城牆行奉獻禮的時候，眾人把各處的利未人召到耶路撒冷，要以稱謝、歌唱、敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，喜樂地行奉獻禮。

那日，眾人獻上豐盛的祭物，並且歡樂，因為上帝使他們大大歡樂，連婦女帶孩童也都歡樂，甚至從遠處都可聽到耶路撒冷的歡聲。

他對我說：「人子啊，這些骸骨能活過來嗎？」我說：「主耶和華啊，你是知道的。」他又對我說：「你要向這些骸骨說預言，對它們說：枯乾的骸骨啊，要聽耶和華的話。主耶和華對這些骸骨如此說：『看哪，我必使氣息進入你們裏面，你們就要活過來。我要給你們加上筋，長出肉，又給你們包上皮，使氣息進入你們裏面，你們就要活過來；你們就知道我是耶和華。』」於是，我遵命說預言。正說預言的時候，有響聲，看哪，有地震；骨與骨彼此接連。我觀看，看哪，骸骨上面有筋，長了肉，又包上皮，只是裏面還沒有氣息。耶和華對我說：「人子啊，你要說預言，向風說預言。你要說，耶和華如此說：氣息啊，要從四方而來，吹在這些被殺的人身上，使他們活過來。」於是我遵命說預言，氣息就進入骸骨，骸骨就活過來，並且用腳站起來，成為極大的軍隊。他對我說：「人子啊，這些骸骨就是以色列全家。他們說：『看哪，我們的骨頭枯乾了，我們的指望失去了，我們滅絕淨盡了！』所以你要說預言，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：我的子民，看哪，我要打開你們的墳墓，把你們帶出墳墓，領你們進入以色列地。我的子民哪，我打開你們的墳墓，把你們帶出墳墓時，你們就知道我是耶和華。

二人就讓非利士的駐軍看見。非利士人說：「看哪，希伯來人從躲藏的洞穴裏出來了！」站崗的士兵對約拿單和拿兵器的人說：「上到這裏來，我們有一件事要告訴你們。」約拿單就對拿兵器的人說：「跟我上去，因為耶和華把他們交在以色列人手裏了。」

那日，耶和華必保護耶路撒冷的居民。他們中間軟弱的在那日必如大衛；大衛家必如上帝，如行在他們前面的耶和華的使者。

非利士人對大衛說：「你拿着杖到我這裏來，我豈是狗嗎？」非利士人就指着自己的神明詛咒大衛。非利士人又對大衛說：「來吧！我要把你的肉給空中的飛鳥和田野的走獸。」
