因為這世界的智慧在上帝看來是愚拙的。如經上記着：「主使有智慧的人中了自己的詭計；」又說：「主知道智慧人的意念，因為它們是虛妄的。」

沒有人能以智慧、聰明、謀略抵擋耶和華。

有人告訴大衛說：「亞希多弗也在叛黨之中，隨從押沙龍。」大衛說：「耶和華啊，求你使亞希多弗的計謀變為愚拙！」

這事正如一個人離家遠行，授權給僕人們，分派各人的工作，又吩咐看門的警醒。

任憑你們籌算甚麼，終必無效；不管你們講定甚麼，總不成立；因為上帝與我們同在。

若非主發命令，誰能說了就成呢？是禍，是福，不都出於至高者的口嗎？
