他破壞狡猾人的計策，使他們的手展不出成功的謀略。他在智慧人自己的狡猾中捉住他們，使邪曲人的計謀迅速地失敗。

因為這世界的智慧、在上帝看就是愚拙。如經上記着說：『上帝用智慧人自己的狡猾、去抓住他們』；又說：『主知道智慧人的理論是徒勞的。』

沒有智慧、沒有明達、沒有謀略能敵得過永恆主。

有人告訴大衛說：『亞希多弗也在反叛的人中間、同押沙龍在一起呢。』大衛就說：『永恆主啊，求你使亞希多弗的計謀變為愚拙。』

就如一個人出外、離開了家，把權柄給他的奴僕，把他的工作給各人，又囑咐看門的要儆醒。

謀畫陰謀吧，終必歸於失敗；一言言定吧，終必不能成立；因為上帝與我們同在。

除非主命定，誰能說成就成呢？是禍是福，不都出於至高者的口麼？
