祂挫敗狡猾人的陰謀，使他們無法得逞。祂使智者中了自己的詭計，使奸徒的計謀迅速落空。

因為這世上的智慧在上帝的眼中都是愚昧的，正如聖經上說：「上帝使智者中了自己的詭計。」又說：「主知道智者的思想虛妄。」

任何智慧、悟性和謀略，都不能對抗耶和華。

有人告訴大衛，亞希多弗也叛變，投奔了押沙龍，大衛就禱告說：「耶和華啊，求你使亞希多弗的謀算都變得愚不可及。」

「這就好像一個人在出遠門之前，把家中的事交給僕人，讓他們各做各的工作，又吩咐守門的人要警醒。

你們設計謀吧，但休想得逞！你們定策略吧，但休想成功！因為上帝與我們同在。

若非主許可，誰的話可以兌現呢？禍福豈不都出自至高者的口嗎？

你們要立志過安分守己的生活，親手做工，正如我們以前吩咐你們的。
