祂挫败狡猾人的阴谋，使他们无法得逞。祂使智者中了自己的诡计，使奸徒的计谋迅速落空。

因为这世上的智慧在上帝的眼中都是愚昧的，正如圣经上说：“上帝使智者中了自己的诡计。”又说：“主知道智者的思想虚妄。”

任何智慧、悟性和谋略，都不能对抗耶和华。

有人告诉大卫，亚希多弗也叛变，投奔了押沙龙，大卫就祷告说：“耶和华啊，求你使亚希多弗的谋算都变得愚不可及。”

“这就好像一个人在出远门之前，把家中的事交给仆人，让他们各做各的工作，又吩咐守门的人要警醒。

你们设计谋吧，但休想得逞！你们定策略吧，但休想成功！因为上帝与我们同在。

若非主许可，谁的话可以兑现呢？祸福岂不都出自至高者的口吗？

你们要立志过安分守己的生活，亲手做工，正如我们以前吩咐你们的。
