Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

修造城牆的和扛抬重物的都有所佩帶：他們都一手作工，一手拿着兵器。修造的人都腰間佩刀來修造；吹號角的人在我旁邊。

要穿戴上帝的軍裝，使你們能站穩、來抵擋魔鬼的詭計。因為我們的戰鬥並不是對屬血與肉的人，乃是對「眾執政的」、「眾掌權的」、對那些統轄這「黑暗」世界的、對天界中諸惡靈。故此你們要拿起上帝的軍裝，好在險惡的日子能抵擋得住；並且既作成了一切事，還能站穩。所以你們要站穩，你們的腰用真誠束好了，義的胸甲穿上了，也把和平福音之準備着上了腳。此外又拿起了信仰的盾牌；用這個就能撲滅那邪惡者一切燒𤏲的箭。你們要把救恩的頭盔和聖靈的寶劍、就是上帝的話語、接過來。藉着各樣的禱告和祈求、時時刻刻用心靈祈禱；以十二分的恆心專在這事上覺醒着，為眾聖徒祈求，也替我求，使我在開口時、得到適當的話語，可以放膽無懼播知福音的奧祕（為了這個、我做帶鎖鍊的大使），使我在這上頭放膽無懼、照所應該講的來講。

恩待人、借給人的、這人必有福利；他以公正維持自己的事務。

『看吧，我差遣你們如同綿羊在豺狼中間；所以你們要靈巧像蛇，要天真像鴿子。

弟兄們，在見識上別做小孩子；但在惡事上卻要做嬰孩；在見識上總要做成人。

希西家見西拿基立來，堅定意向要攻擊耶路撒冷，就同大臣和勇士們商議，要塞住城外各泉源的水；他們全都贊成。於是有許多人集合了起來，塞住一切的泉源和通流於地中的溪河，說：『為甚麼要讓亞述諸王來、得到這許多水呢？』希西家奮勇自強，修造了所有被拆破的城牆，又在牆上起譙樓，在城外另造一道牆；他加強大衛城的米羅，製造了許多兵器盾牌。又設立了戰將來管理兵眾，將他們集合在城門廣場來見他；他就講話來鼓勵他們的心，說：『你們要剛強壯膽，不要因亞述王和跟隨他的許多蜂擁軍兵而懼怕驚慌；因為和我們同在的比和他們同在的大。和他同在的、是血肉之手臂；而和我們同在的、乃是永恆主我們的上帝，在幫助我們，打我們的仗。』眾民因猶大王希西家的話就覺得有恃無懼了。

那一夜，雅各就在那裏過夜。他從那進他手的東西中取了禮物、要送給他哥哥以掃：就是母山羊二百隻、公山羊二十隻、母綿羊二百隻、公綿羊二十隻、奶崽子的駱駝三十隻、和牠們的崽子、母牛四十隻、公牛十隻、母驢二十隻、驢駒十隻。交在僕人手下，一羣一羣獨立；又對僕人說：『你們在我前面過去，使一羣一羣之間有個距離。』又吩咐頭裏走的人說：『我哥哥以掃遇見你的時候，若問你說：「你是哪家的人？要往哪裏去？你前面這些是誰的？」你就要說：「是你僕人雅各的，是送給我主以掃的禮物；看哪，他自己也在我們後邊呢。」』又吩咐第二第三的、以及一切趕牲畜羣的人都說：『你們遇着以掃的時候，也要這樣對他說；你們也要說：「看哪，你僕人雅各還在我們後邊呢。」』因為雅各心裏說：『我用在我前面走的禮物去解他的恨，然後再見他的面，或者他會讓我的臉抬得起。』

看哪，是所羅門的轎子：四圍有六十個勇士，都是以色列中的勇士：都曉得拿刀劍，善於爭戰；每人腰間都有刀劍，以防夜間有驚慌事。
