Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

修造城墙的，扛抬材料的，都一手做工一手拿兵器。修造的人都腰间佩刀修造，吹角的人在我旁边。

要穿戴神所赐的全副军装，就能抵挡魔鬼的诡计。因我们并不是与属血气的争战，乃是与那些执政的、掌权的、管辖这幽暗世界的，以及天空属灵气的恶魔争战。所以，要拿起神所赐的全副军装，好在磨难的日子抵挡仇敌，并且成就了一切，还能站立得住。所以要站稳了，用真理当作带子束腰，用公义当作护心镜遮胸，又用平安的福音当作预备走路的鞋穿在脚上。此外，又拿着信德当作藤牌，可以灭尽那恶者一切的火箭；并戴上救恩的头盔，拿着圣灵的宝剑，就是神的道；靠着圣灵，随时多方祷告祈求；并要在此警醒不倦，为众圣徒祈求，也为我祈求，使我得着口才，能以放胆开口讲明福音的奥秘，我为这福音的奥秘作了带锁链的使者，并使我照着当尽的本分放胆讲论。

施恩与人、借贷与人的，这人事情顺利；他被审判的时候要诉明自己的冤。

“我差你们去，如同羊进入狼群；所以你们要灵巧像蛇，驯良像鸽子。

弟兄们，在心志上不要作小孩子。然而，在恶事上要作婴孩，在心志上总要作大人。

希西家见西拿基立来，定意要攻打耶路撒冷，就与首领和勇士商议塞住城外的泉源，他们就都帮助他。于是有许多人聚集，塞了一切泉源，并通流国中的小河，说：“亚述王来，为何让他得着许多水呢？”希西家力图自强，就修筑所有拆毁的城墙，高与城楼相齐；在城外又筑一城，坚固大卫城的米罗，制造了许多军器、盾牌；设立军长管理百姓，将他们招聚在城门的宽阔处，用话勉励他们，说：“你们当刚强壮胆，不要因亚述王和跟随他的大军恐惧、惊慌；因为与我们同在的，比与他们同在的更大。与他们同在的是肉臂，与我们同在的是耶和华我们的神，他必帮助我们，为我们争战。”百姓就靠犹大王希西家的话，安然无惧了。

当夜，雅各在那里住宿，就从他所有的物中拿礼物要送给他哥哥以扫：母山羊二百只，公山羊二十只，母绵羊二百只，公绵羊二十只，奶崽子的骆驼三十只，各带着崽子；母牛四十只，公牛十只，母驴二十匹，驴驹十匹。每样各分一群，交在仆人手下，就对仆人说：“你们要在我前头过去，使群群相离，有空闲的地方”；又吩咐尽先走的说：“我哥哥以扫遇见你的时候，问你说：‘你是哪家的人？要往哪里去？你前头这些是谁的？’你就说：‘是你仆人雅各的，是送给我主以扫的礼物；他自己也在我们后边。’”又吩咐第二、第三，和一切赶群畜的人说：“你们遇见以扫的时候也要这样对他说；并且你们要说：‘你仆人雅各在我们后边。’”因雅各心里说：“我藉着在我前头去的礼物解他的恨，然后再见他的面，或者他容纳我。”

看哪，是所罗门的轿；四围有六十个勇士，都是以色列中的勇士；手都持刀，善于争战，腰间佩刀，防备夜间有惊慌。
