Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

那些建造城牆，搬運重物的，都是一隻手作工，一隻手緊握兵器。建造的人，都腰間佩著刀來建造；吹號角的人在我旁邊。

要穿戴神所賜的全副軍裝，使你們能抵擋魔鬼的詭計。因為我們的爭戰，對抗的不是有血有肉的人，而是執政的、掌權的、管轄這黑暗世界的和天上的邪靈。所以要穿起神所賜的全副軍裝，使你們在這邪惡的時代裡可以抵擋得住，並且在作完了一切之後，還能站立得穩。因此，你們要站穩，用真理當帶子束腰，披上公義的胸甲，把和平的福音預備好了，當作鞋子，穿在腳上，拿起信心的盾牌，用來撲滅那惡者所有的火箭；並且要戴上救恩的頭盔，拿起聖靈的寶劍，就是神的道，藉著各樣的禱告和祈求，隨時在聖靈裡祈禱，並且要在這事上恆久警醒，為眾聖徒祈求。也要為我祈求，使我傳講的時候，得著當說的話，可以坦然無懼地講明福音的奧祕，（我為這奧祕作了被捆鎖的使者），也使我按著應當說的，放膽宣講這福音的奧祕。

恩待人，借貸給別人，按公正處理自己事務的，這人必享福樂。

“現在，我差派你們出去，好像羊進到狼群中間；所以你們要像蛇一樣機警，像鴿子一樣純潔。

弟兄們，你們在思想上不要作小孩子，卻要在惡事上作嬰孩，在思想上作成年人。

希西家見西拿基立有意攻打耶路撒冷，就與眾領袖和眾勇士商議，要把城外各道水泉堵塞，他們都贊同。於是有一大班人集合起來，堵塞了一切泉源和流通那地的溪流，他們說：“為甚麼要讓亞述王得著充沛的水源呢？”希西家發憤圖強，重建所有拆毀了的城牆，牆上築起瞭望樓，又建造一道外牆，並且鞏固大衛城內的米羅，又製造了很多兵器和盾牌。他又委派軍長統管眾民，集合他們到城門的廣場那裡去見他；他鼓勵他們說：“你們要堅強勇敢，不要因亞述王和他統領的大軍懼怕驚慌；因為和我們同在的，比和他們同在的更多。和他們同在的，不過是人血肉的手臂；和我們同在的，卻是耶和華我們的神，他必幫助我們，為我們作戰。”眾民因猶大王希西家的話都得著鼓勵了。

那天晚上，雅各在那裡過夜。然後從他所擁有的牲畜中，取出一部分，作為給他哥哥以掃的禮物，就是母山羊二百隻、公山羊二十隻、母綿羊二百隻、公綿羊二十隻、哺乳的母駱駝三十匹，各帶著駒子，母牛四十頭、公牛十頭、母驢二十頭、公驢十頭。雅各把這些分成一隊一隊，交在僕人的手裡，又對僕人說：“你們先過去，每隊之間要留一段距離。”他又吩咐走在最前的僕人說：“我哥哥以掃遇見你的時候，如果問你：‘你的主人是誰？你要到哪裡去？在你前面的這些牲畜是誰的？’你就要回答：‘是你僕人雅各的，是送給我主以掃的禮物，他自己也在我們後面。’”他又吩咐第二個、第三個和所有跟在隊伍後面的人說：“你們遇見以掃的時候，都要這樣對他說。你們還要說：‘你的僕人雅各在我們後面。’”因為他心裡想：“我先送禮物去，藉此與他和解，然後再與他見面，或者他會原諒我﹙“他會原諒我”或譯：“他會接納我”﹚。”

看哪！是所羅門的御轎，四周有六十個勇士，都是以色列中的勇士。個個手拿武器，能征慣戰；各人腿上配有利劍，以防夜間的襲擊。
