Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning[ of the wall], and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that[ was] by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.

那时巴比伦王的军队围困耶路撒冷，先知耶利米囚在护卫兵的院内，在犹大王的宫中；

打发人去，将耶利米从护卫兵院中提出来，交与沙番的孙子亚希甘的儿子基大利，带回家去。于是耶利米住在民中。耶利米还囚在护卫兵院中的时候，耶和华的话临到他说：

迦勒底人用火焚烧王宫和百姓的房屋，又拆毁耶路撒冷的城墙。

他说：“我要为自己盖广大的房、宽敞的楼，为自己开窗户。这楼房的护墙板是香柏木的，楼房是丹色油漆的。”

文士以斯拉站在为这事特备的木台上。玛他提雅、示玛、亚奈雅、乌利亚、希勒家，和玛西雅站在他的右边；毗大雅、米沙利、玛基雅、哈顺、哈拔大拿、撒迦利亚，和米书兰站在他的左边。
