After him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, leader of half the district of Beth Zur, made repairs as far as the place in front of the tombs of David, to the man-made pool, and as far as the House of the Mighty.

After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of half the district of Beth- zur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and unto the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty men.

“ Brothers and sisters, I can confidently speak to you about the patriarch David: He is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

You made a reservoir between the walls for the water of the ancient pool, but you did not look to the one who made it, or consider the one who created it long ago.

Next to them Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs.

King Rehoboam made bronze shields to replace them and committed them into the care of the captains of the guards who protected the entrance to the king’s palace.Whenever the king entered the LORD’s temple, the guards would carry the shields and take them back to the armory.

He was buried in his own tomb that he had made for himself in the city of David. They laid him out in a coffin that was full of spices and various mixtures of prepared ointments; then they made a great fire in his honor.
