I gave orders to purify the rooms, and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense.

對他們說：「利未人哪，當聽我說：現在你們要將自己分別為聖，又將耶和華－你們列祖上帝的殿分別為聖，從聖所中除去污穢之物。

祭司和利未人遵守上帝所吩咐的，守潔淨禮。歌唱的和門口的守衛照着大衛和他兒子所羅門的命令也如此行。

他們聚集他們的弟兄，將自己分別為聖，照着耶和華的話和王的吩咐，進去潔淨耶和華的殿。祭司進入耶和華的內殿要潔淨殿，把耶和華殿中所發現一切污穢之物都搬出去，搬到耶和華殿的院子，由利未人接走，搬出去到外頭的汲淪溪。從正月初一開始分別為聖，初八就來到耶和華殿的走廊。他們又用了八日使耶和華的殿分別為聖，到正月十六日才完成。於是，他們到裏面去見希西家王，說：「我們已將耶和華的全殿和燔祭壇，以及壇的一切器皿、供餅的供桌，與供桌的一切器皿都潔淨了；並且連亞哈斯王在位犯罪的時候所廢棄的器皿，我們也都預備齊全，分別為聖，看哪，它們都在耶和華的祭壇前。」
