I gave orders to purify the rooms, and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense.

对他们说：“利未人哪，当听我说：现在你们要将自己分别为圣，又将耶和华—你们列祖神的殿分别为圣，从圣所中除去污秽之物。

祭司和利未人遵守神所吩咐的，守洁净礼。歌唱的和门口的守卫照着大卫和他儿子所罗门的命令也如此行。

他们聚集他们的弟兄，将自己分别为圣，照着耶和华的话和王的吩咐，进去洁净耶和华的殿。祭司进入耶和华的内殿要洁净殿，把耶和华殿中所发现一切污秽之物都搬出去，搬到耶和华殿的院子，由利未人接走，搬出去到外头的汲沦溪。从正月初一开始分别为圣，初八就来到耶和华殿的走廊。他们又用了八日使耶和华的殿分别为圣，到正月十六日才完成。于是，他们到里面去见希西家王，说：“我们已将耶和华的全殿和燔祭坛，以及坛的一切器皿、供饼的供桌，与供桌的一切器皿都洁净了；并且连亚哈斯王在位犯罪的时候所废弃的器皿，我们也都预备齐全，分别为圣，看哪，它们都在耶和华的祭坛前。”
