以色列王所羅門豈不是在這樣的事上犯了罪麼？在許多國之中並沒有一個王能比得上他呀；他並且是蒙他的上帝所愛的，上帝曾立了他做王來管理以色列呀；然而連他也被外籍女人所引誘而去犯罪。

我又说：“以色列王所罗门不是在这样的事上犯罪吗？在多国中并没有一王像他，且蒙他神所爱，神立他作以色列全国的王；然而连他也被外邦女子引诱犯罪。

告之曰、以色列王所羅門、娶於異邦而犯罪、昔所羅門在列國中、無王可比、上帝愛之、使治以色列、然異邦之女、陷之於罪。

謂之曰、昔以色列王所羅門、亦因斯事犯罪、在列國中、無王可比、為其天主所愛、天主立之為以色列王、然異邦之女、誘之獲罪、

Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women.

That’s how Solomon, the king of Israel, sinned. He married women from other nations. There wasn’t a king like him anywhere. His God loved him. In fact, God made him king over the whole nation of Israel. But even he was led into sin by women from other lands.

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such women? Among the many nations there was no king like him, and he was beloved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless, foreign women made even him to sin.

“ Wasn’t this exactly what led King Solomon of Israel into sin?” I demanded.“ There was no king from any nation who could compare to him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel. But even he was led into sin by his foreign wives.

Didn’t King Solomon of Israel sin in matters like this? There was not a king like him among many nations. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, yet foreign women drew him into sin.

你所沒有祈求的我也賜給你，就是財富、尊榮；儘你在世的日子、在列王中沒有一人能比得上你的。

所羅門王愛上了許多外籍女子：像法老的女兒、摩押女子、亞捫女子、以東女子、西頓女子、赫人女子等。關於這些國的人、永恆主曾經對以色列人說：『你們不可去在他們中間，他們也不可來在你們中間：因為他們的確會使你們的心偏離、去隨從他們的神』；但所羅門卻戀慕着這些女子、而愛了她們。所羅門有七百個后妃、公主；還有三百個嬪妃；他的妻妾使他的心偏離了。所羅門年老的時候、他的妻妾使他的心偏離、去隨從別的神；他的心總不純全全地歸向永恆主他的上帝，不像他父親大衛那樣。因為所羅門隨從西頓人的女神亞斯他錄、和亞捫人可憎的神米勒公。所羅門行了永恆主所看為壞的事，不滿心滿懷地跟從永恆主、不像他父親大衛跟從永恆主那樣子。那時所羅門為摩押可憎的神基抹和亞捫人可憎的神摩洛在耶路撒冷東面的山上築了一座邱壇。他為他所有的外籍妻妾、那些向自己的神燻祭宰牲的、都這樣行。

故此智慧學識就給予你；連財富、資產、尊榮、我也必給你；你以前諸王未曾有過這樣，你以後的也必沒有這樣。』

大衛安慰他的妻子拔示巴，就進去找她，和她同寢；她生了一個兒子，他就給他起名叫所羅門。永恆主也愛他；便由神言人拿單經手送個信兒，給孩子起名叫耶底底亞，照永恆主所吩咐的話。

我查出一宗比死還苦的事：就是有一種婦人是網羅；她的心是網子，她的手是鎖鍊：那使上帝喜悅的人能躲避她；愛犯罪的人卻被她纏住了。

所羅門王的財寶和智慧比地上列王都大。
