王必謂之曰、我誠告爾、即行之於我兄弟至微之一、即行之於我也、○

任人咒詛、望主錫福、使彼愧恥、僕以欣喜兮、

時摩押王、西撥子巴勒攻以色列族、召庇耳子巴蘭、使咒詛爾。我不許巴蘭咒詛、反使祝福、故爾得脫。

巴蘭作歌曰、巴勒可興起而聞言、西撥子可傾耳以恭聽。

曰、美哉雅各之幕、以色列之室與。如陵谷之開廣、如園囿之臨河、如耶和華之植奇南香、如溪旁之有柏香木。其裔熾昌、如泉滂沛、其王高於亞甲、其國可得振興。昔上帝導之出埃及、其行之捷、可儗於兕、必並吞敵國、刺之以矢、嚙傷其骨。其民如牡獅、伏視耽耽、亦猶牝獅、孰敢攖之、祝爾者必見祝、詛爾者必見詛。○巴勒甚怒、鼓掌而言、曰、我召爾詛敵、爾乃祝之者三。

上帝未詛、我何以詛、耶和華未詈、我何以詈。陟山之巖、我為顧視、高崗之巔、我為瞻望、斯族獨居、不雜於眾。雅各之裔如沙、孰能悉其數、以色列之眾、誰克稽其半、善者逝世、我願如之、彼得考終、吾竊效焉。巴勒謂巴蘭曰、惡、是何言與、我召爾詛敵、爾反祝之。
