耶和华对我如此说：“你去站在犹大君王出入的平民门，和耶路撒冷的各城门口，对他们说：‘你们这犹大君王、犹大众人和耶路撒冷所有的居民，凡从这些城门进入的，都当听耶和华的话。耶和华如此说：你们要谨慎，不可在安息日挑什么担子进入耶路撒冷的城门，也不可在安息日从家中挑担子出去。无论何工都不可做，只要以安息日为圣日，正如我所吩咐你们祖先的。’

“你们在自己的地收割庄稼时，不可割尽田的角落，也不可拾取庄稼所掉落的，要把它们留给穷人和寄居的。我是耶和华—你们的神。”

你们要守安息日，以它为圣日。凡干犯这日的，必被处死；凡在这日做工的，那人必从百姓中剪除。六日要做工，但第七日是向耶和华守完全安息的安息圣日。凡在安息日做工的，必被处死。’以色列人要守安息日，世世代代守安息日为永远的约。这是我和以色列人之间永远的记号，因为六日之内耶和华造天地，第七日就安息舒畅。”

我对他们说：“等到太阳热的时候才可开耶路撒冷的城门；要派耶路撒冷的居民，各按班次在自己房屋的前面站岗。他们还在站岗的时候，就要关门上闩。”
