昔爾列祖、豈非行是、致我上帝降諸災於我儕、及斯邑乎、爾今又犯安息、使怒及於以色列、尤有甚焉、

昔我列祖行是、上帝降災、罰及我身、殲滅斯邑、爾又犯之、貽禍於以色列族、尤有甚焉。

昔列祖亦如斯行、我天主以此諸災、降於我儕及此城、今爾犯安息日、使以色列人干主怒尤甚、

Didn’t your ancestors do the same things, so that our God brought all this calamity on us and on this city? Now you are stirring up more wrath against Israel by desecrating the Sabbath.”

Your people of long ago did the very same things. That’s why our God has brought all this trouble on us. That’s why he’s making this city suffer so much. Now you are making him even angrier against Israel. You are misusing the Sabbath day.”

Did not your fathers act in this way, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us and on this city? Now you are bringing more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”

“ Wasn’t it just this sort of thing that your ancestors did that caused our God to bring all this trouble upon us and our city? Now you are bringing even more wrath upon Israel by permitting the Sabbath to be desecrated in this way!”

Didn’t your ancestors do the same, so that our God brought all this disaster on us and on this city? And now you are rekindling his anger against Israel by profaning the Sabbath!”

Did your fathers not do the same, so that our God brought on us and on this city all this trouble? Yet you are adding to the wrath against Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”

Did not your fathers do thus, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us and on this city? Yet you bring added wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”

Didn’t your ancestors do the same, so that our God brought all this disaster on us and on this city? And now you are rekindling His anger against Israel by profaning the Sabbath!”

Isn’t this the way your ancestors acted, causing our God to bring on them and on this city all this misfortune? And now you are causing even more wrath on Israel, profaning the Sabbath like this!”

耶和华说，如果你们想保住性命，就要小心，不要在安息日带货物进耶路撒冷的城门，也不要从家中运出货物，不要在安息日做任何工作。要按照我对你们祖先的吩咐守安息日为圣日。然而，他们却不听，毫不理会，顽固不化，不肯受教。

“虽然因为我们的恶行和大罪，这一切事情临到我们，但我们的上帝啊，你给我们的惩罚比我们该受的轻多了，你还施恩给我们留下这些余民。我们岂能再违背你的诫命，与这些行为可憎的人通婚？若我们这样行，你岂不发怒毁灭我们，使我们无一幸免吗？以色列的上帝耶和华啊，你是公义的，所以我们这些余民今天才得以幸存。看啊，我们在你面前身负罪恶，因而无人能在你面前站立得住。”

“如果你们受过这些惩罚，仍然不知悔改，我要把比先前严厉七倍的惩罚加在你们身上。

他们要剥下你的衣服，夺去你的珠宝。

从前拜毗珥的罪恶不够大吗？那一次，瘟疫降到耶和华的会众身上，直到今日我们还没有洗净这罪。你们今日要离弃耶和华吗？今日你们背叛耶和华，明日祂必向以色列全体会众发怒。

难道你们忘记了你们的祖先、犹大列王及其嫔妃，以及你们自己和妻子在犹大和耶路撒冷街上的恶行吗？

她没有放弃在埃及的淫荡行为，她年轻的时候就任人玩弄、发泄情欲。

我也要与你们作对，向你们发烈怒，把比先前严厉七倍的惩罚加在你们身上。

不要像你们的祖先一样。以前的先知曾呼唤他们要听从万军之耶和华的话，改邪归正，停止作恶，他们却置若罔闻，不予理会。这是耶和华说的。现在你们的祖先在哪里呢？那些先知能活到永远吗？然而，我吩咐我仆人——众先知的训言和律例岂不应验在你们祖先的头上了吗？后来他们悔改了，说，万军之耶和华按着我们的所作所为报应了我们，正如祂所言。’”

“现在，你们这群罪人的后代竟然重蹈前人的覆辙，加剧耶和华的怒气。

但如果你们不听我的话，不守安息日为圣日，仍在安息日运货物进耶路撒冷的城门，我必在各城门点起无法扑灭的大火，烧毁耶路撒冷的宫殿。’”

你们的可憎恶行令耶和华忍无可忍，以致祂使你们的土地一片荒凉，无人居住，被人咒诅，正如今天的情形。
