大卫却攻取了锡安的保障，就是大卫的城。那一天大卫说：“攻打耶布斯人的，要把大卫心中恨恶的‘瞎子’和‘瘸子’丢进水沟里。”因此有句俗语说：“瞎眼的或瘸腿的，都不能进殿里。”后来大卫住在保障里，称保障为“大卫的城”。大卫又从米罗向里面周围筑墙。

管理米斯巴的区长各荷西的儿子沙仑修筑泉门。他重建那门，加盖门顶，装上门扇、门插和门闩；又重建靠近王园的西罗亚池的城墙，直到从大卫城下来的台阶。下一段由管理半个伯．夙的区长，押卜的儿子尼希米修筑，直到大卫墓地的对面，又到人工池和勇士之家。
