And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because[ he is] good, for his mercy[ endureth] for ever toward Israel. And the residue of Israel, of the priests,[ and] the Levites,[ were] in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.

Rejoice in the Lord alway:[ and] again I say, Rejoice.

[ It is a] good[ thing] to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.

And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.

And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.All these[ were] under the hands of their father for song[ in] the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
