那界線又上欣嫩子平谷、到耶布斯的南阪坡（耶布斯就是耶路撒冷）；界線又上西邊欣嫩平谷東面的山頂，就在利乏音山谷北面的儘邊；

因此耶路撒冷王亞多尼洗德就打發人去見希伯崙王何咸、耶末王毘蘭、拉吉王雅非亞、和伊磯倫王底璧、說：

瑪利沙的居民哪，我還要使個霸佔者來侵犯你呢；以色列的榮耀就必永遠消失。

又下到欣嫩子平谷東面之山的儘邊，就是利乏音山谷北邊的山；又下欣嫩平谷、到耶布斯人的阪坡南邊，再下隱羅結；

他們築了巴力的邱壇，就是那在欣嫩子平谷的，去讓自己的兒女經過火而獻歸摩洛；他們行了這可厭惡的事、使猶大陷於罪裏，這並不是我所吩咐的，也不是我心裏所起意過的呀。

因此你看吧，日子必到，永恆主發神諭說，這地方必不再稱為陀斐特和欣嫩子平谷，乃要稱為殺戮平谷。

約西亞又使欣嫩子谷的陀斐特成了凡俗，不許人將兒女用火燒獻給摩洛。

谷門是哈嫩和撒挪亞的居民修造的：他們重造了那門，安立了門扇戶樞和門閂；又建造了城牆一千肘、直到糞土門。

出去到欣嫩子平谷哈珥西門口那裏，在那裏宣告我所告訴你的話。

一個是立拿王，一個是亞杜蘭王，

他們築了陀斐特的邱壇、就是那在欣嫩子平谷中的，去用火焚燒自己的兒女：這並不是我所吩咐的，也不是我心裏所起意過的。因此你看吧，日子必到，永恆主發神諭說，這地方必不再稱為陀斐特或欣嫩子平谷，乃要稱為殺戮之平谷；因為人必在陀斐特埋葬死人，因為沒有別的地方。

參謀長回去，正遇見亞述王在攻擊立拿；原來他早聽見亞述王已經拔營離開拉吉。
