祭司亞倫的兒子以利亞撒要做利未人首領中的領袖，要監察那些應守聖所職守的人。

守殿官和祭司長聽見了這些報告的話，心裏很為難，不知道事情要怎樣變化。

看哪，凡屬永恆主的事、有祭司長亞瑪利雅管理你們；凡屬王的事、有猶大家首領以實瑪利的兒子西巴第雅管理你們；在你們面前則有利未人做官吏。你們要剛強辦事；願永恆主和善人同在。』

耶歇、亞撒細雅、拿哈、亞撒黑、耶利末、約撒拔、以列、伊斯瑪基雅、瑪哈、比拿雅做管理員，在歌楠雅和歌楠雅的兄弟示每手下，由希西家王和上帝之殿的總務長亞撒利雅派的。

這樣、以色列人都登記了家譜；看哪，都寫在《以色列諸王記》上呢；猶大人因為不忠實，就流亡到巴比倫。
