魔鬼就带他进了圣城，叫他站在殿顶上，

到耶稣复活以后，他们从坟墓里出来，进了圣城，向许多人显现。

他们无论大小，都按着宗族掣签分守各门。

众人就祷告说：“主啊，你知道万人的心，求你从这两个人中，指明你所拣选的是谁，叫他得这使徒的位分。这位分犹大已经丢弃，往自己的地方去了。”

约书亚就在示罗，耶和华面前，为他们拈阄。约书亚在那里，按着以色列人的支派，将地分给他们。

城是广大，其中的民却稀少，房屋还没有建造。我的神感动我心，招聚贵胄、官长，和百姓，要照家谱计算。我找着第一次上来之人的家谱，其上写着：

因为在那里设立审判的宝座，就是大卫家的宝座。

“你城中若起了争讼的事，或因流血，或因争竞，或因殴打，是你难断的案件，你就当起来，往耶和华你神所选择的地方去见祭司利未人，并当时的审判官，求问他们，他们必将判语指示你。

我们向基比亚人必这样行，照所掣的签去攻击他们。我们要在以色列各支派中，一百人挑取十人，一千人挑取百人，一万人挑取千人，为民运粮，等大众到了便雅悯的基比亚，就照基比亚人在以色列中所行的丑事征伐他们。”

签放在怀里，定事由耶和华。
