We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.

We’ve done some very evil things. We haven’t obeyed the commands, rules and laws you gave your servant Moses.

We have acted very corruptly against you and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules that you commanded your servant Moses.

We have sinned terribly by not obeying the commands, decrees, and regulations that you gave us through your servant Moses.

And testified against them, That You might bring them back to Your law. Yet they acted proudly, And did not heed Your commandments, But sinned against Your judgments,‘ Which if a man does, he shall live by them.’ And they shrugged their shoulders, Stiffened their necks, And would not hear.Yet for many years You had patience with them, And testified against them by Your Spirit in Your prophets. Yet they would not listen; Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.Nevertheless in Your great mercy You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, gracious and merciful.“ Now therefore, our God, The great, the mighty, and awesome God, Who keeps covenant and mercy: Do not let all the trouble seem small before You That has come upon us, Our kings and our princes, Our priests and our prophets, Our fathers and on all Your people, From the days of the kings of Assyria until this day.However You are just in all that has befallen us; For You have dealt faithfully, But we have done wickedly.Neither our kings nor our princes, Our priests nor our fathers, Have kept Your law, Nor heeded Your commandments and Your testimonies, With which You testified against them.For they have not served You in their kingdom, Or in the many good things that You gave them, Or in the large and rich land which You set before them; Nor did they turn from their wicked works.

“ Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.

“ As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth.

They are deeply corrupted, As in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity; He will punish their sins.

And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Uzziah had done( although he did not enter the temple of the Lord). But still the people acted corruptly.

For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.”

However he did not execute their children, but did as it is written in the Law in the Book of Moses, where the Lord commanded, saying,“ The fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall the children be put to death for their fathers; but a person shall die for his own sin.”

Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes!Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments.I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly!

So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.“ But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

And Moses called all Israel, and said to them:“ Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your hearing today, that you may learn them and be careful to observe them.

“ Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the Lord your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess,

Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, and has departed so as not to obey Your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against Him.

These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

this Ezra came up from Babylon; and he was a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had given. The king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the Lord his God upon him.
