今僕於爾前、為爾僕以色列人、晝夜祈禱、認我以色列人所犯之罪、僕之祈禱、求爾側耳聽之、啟目顧之、我與父家、俱干罪戾、

我為爾僕、晨夕祈禱、求爾施恩於眾僕、以色列族願爾垂顧、冀爾俯聞、我與室人、及以色列族多獲罪愆、今於爾前、自言己過、

僕今為主之諸僕以色列人、晝夜所祈禱於主前、又認以色列人及我並我父家於主前所犯之罪、求主以目垂顧、側耳垂聽僕之祈禱、

let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you.

我正說話、禱告，承認我的罪和我百姓以色列的罪，為我上帝的聖山，在耶和華－我的上帝面前懇求；

我向耶和華－我的上帝祈禱、認罪，說：「主啊，你是大而可畏的上帝，向愛主、守主誡命的人守約施慈愛。

我的上帝啊，現在求你睜眼看，側耳聽在此處所獻的禱告。

耶和華的眼目看顧義人，他的耳朵聽他們的呼求。

上帝的選民晝夜呼籲他，他豈會延遲不給他們伸冤嗎？

因我們的祖先犯了罪，行耶和華－我們上帝眼中看為惡的事，離棄他，轉臉背向耶和華的居所。

那時我說：「禍哉！我滅亡了！因為我是嘴唇不潔的人，住在嘴唇不潔的民中，又因我親眼看見大君王－萬軍之耶和華。」

以斯拉禱告，認罪，哭泣，俯伏在上帝殿前的時候，有以色列中的男女和孩童聚集到以斯拉那裏，成了一個盛大的會，百姓無不痛哭。

我們的祖先犯罪，而今他們不在了，我們卻擔當他們的罪孽。

我們從前也都生活在他們當中，放縱肉體的私慾，隨着肉體和心中的意念去做，和別人一樣，生來就是該受懲罰的人。

耶和華－拯救我的上帝啊，我晝夜在你面前呼求；

晚上、早晨、中午我要哀聲悲嘆，他就垂聽我的聲音。

主啊，求你聽我的聲音！求你側耳聽我懇求的聲音！

人都有自己的罪，活人有甚麼好發怨言的呢？讓我們省察，檢討自己的行為，歸向耶和華吧！讓我們獻上我們的心，向天上的上帝舉手！我們犯罪悖逆，你並未赦免。

「我立掃羅為王，我感到遺憾，因為他轉去不跟從我，不遵守我的命令。」撒母耳就很生氣，終夜哀求耶和華。

我向你陳明我的罪，不隱瞞我的惡。我說：「我要向耶和華承認我的過犯」；你就赦免我的罪惡。（細拉）

我們都如不潔淨的人，所行的義都像污穢的衣服。我們如葉子漸漸枯乾，罪孽像風把我們吹走。無人求告你的名，無人奮力抓住你。你轉臉不顧我們，你使我們因罪孽而融化。

就寡居了，現在已經八十四歲。她不離開聖殿，禁食祈求，晝夜事奉上帝。

我感謝上帝，就是我接續祖先用純潔的良心所事奉的上帝，在祈禱中晝夜不停地想念你。

如今你們又有意強逼猶大人和耶路撒冷人作你們的奴婢，你們豈不是也得罪了耶和華－你們的上帝嗎？

惟求耶和華－我的上帝垂顧僕人的禱告祈求，俯聽僕人今日在你面前的祈禱呼求。願你的眼目晝夜看顧這殿，就是你說要作為你名的居所；求你垂聽禱告，你僕人向此處的禱告。

說：「我的上帝啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向你－我的上帝仰面，因為我們的罪孽多到滅頂，我們的罪惡滔天。從我們祖先的日子直到今日，我們的罪惡深重；因我們的罪孽，我們和君王、祭司都交在鄰國諸王的手中，被殺害，擄掠，搶奪，臉上蒙羞，正如今日的景況。

獨居無靠的真寡婦只仰賴上帝，晝夜不住地祈求禱告。

現在當向耶和華－你們列祖的上帝認罪，遵行他的旨意，離開這地的百姓和外邦女子。」
