垂顧郇邑、其時已至、爾其勃興、矜憫之兮、即其瓦礫、爾僕亦悅之、即其塵沙、爾僕亦愛之兮。

曰、以色列族遁於非利士人前、眾被殺戮、爾二子何弗尼、非尼哈亦死、上帝之匱見虜。以利年老體胖、一聞上帝之匱為敵所虜、則自座下墜、隕於門旁、頸折而死、以利在以色列族曾為士師、歷四十年。其媳非尼哈妻懷妊臨產、聞上帝之匱見奪、舅與夫並死、則艱難倍至、卷曲以產。臨死之時、旁侍之婦曰、安爾心、汝生男子。產婦不答、毫不留意、乃命子名為以迦泊、曰以色列之榮已去。因上帝之匱見奪、舅與夫已死故也。又曰、上帝之匱見奪、以色列之榮去矣。

爾中有人、見郇邑被辱、不能守節期、憂心戚戚、若斯之人、我必撫集之、

曰、我希百來人、素所敬畏者、天上之上帝耶和華、陸地滄海、皆其所造、

宜求天上上帝施恩、以此秘奧、默示我儕、以免我儕與巴比倫哲士、同就駢戮、

彼曰、上帝乃天地之主、我儕為其僕、欲復為之建殿、昔以色列族英主、建殿於此。我列祖干天上上帝之怒、故上帝使迦勒底人、巴比倫王、尼布甲尼撒、擊之、毀斯殿、虜斯民、至巴比倫。

我聞之不禁裂裳衣、拔鬚髮、愕然而坐、
