今也牝獅之穴安在、穉獅之洞何存、昔者牝獅牡獅、俱游於斯、無人叱之、

今也牡獅之穴安在、壯獅養育養育或作攫食之處安在、昔者牡獅牝獅、以及穉獅、俱遊於斯、無人叱之、叱之或作敢惹

Where now is the lions’ den, the place where they fed their young, where the lion and lioness went, and the cubs, with nothing to fear?

Assyria is like a lion. Where is the lions’ den now? Where did they feed their cubs? Where did all the lions go? In their den they had nothing to fear.

Where is the lions’ den, the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion and lioness went, where his cubs were, with none to disturb?

Where now is that great Nineveh, that den filled with young lions? It was a place where people— like lions and their cubs— walked freely and without fear.

Where is the lions’ lair, or the feeding ground of the young lions, where the lion and lioness prowled, and the lion’s cub, with nothing to frighten them away?

Where is the den of the lions And the feeding place of the young lions, Where the lion, lioness, and lion’s cub went With nothing to disturb them?

Where is the dwelling of the lions, And the feeding place of the young lions, Where the lion walked, the lioness and lion’s cub, And no one made them afraid?

Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding- place of the young lions, where the lion and the lioness walked, the lion’s whelp, and none made them afraid?

Where is the lions’ lair, or the feeding ground of the young lions, where the lion and lioness prowled, and the lion’s cub, with nothing to frighten them away?

Where[ is] the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion,[ even] the old lion, walked,[ and] the lion’s whelp, and none made[ them] afraid?

他們的吼叫像母獅，他們的咆哮如幼獅；他們咆哮，攫取獵物，把它叼去，無人援救。

幼獅都向他咆哮，大聲吼叫，使他的地荒涼，城中破毀，無人居住。

獅子的咆哮，猛獅的吼聲，盡都止息，壯獅的牙齒也都斷掉。公獅因缺乏獵物而死亡，母獅之子也被分散。

以色列是被趕散的羊，它被獅子趕逐。先是亞述王把它吞滅，現在巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒要咬碎它的骨頭。

說：‘你的母親是甚麼？是獅子群中的母獅，牠臥在少壯獅子群中，養育牠的小獅子。牠養大其中一隻小獅子，這幼獅成了一隻少壯的獅子，學會了撕碎獵物，把人吃掉。列國聽見了，就把牠困在他們的坑中；他們用鈎子把牠帶到埃及地去。母獅見自己所等候的落空了，所希望的幻滅了，就從牠的小獅子中另取出一隻，使牠成為少壯的獅子。牠在獅子群中行走；牠已成了一隻少壯的獅子，牠學會了撕碎獵物，把人吃掉。牠拆毀了他們的城堡，使他們的城市荒涼；因牠吼叫的聲音，地和其中所充滿的都驚恐。於是四圍的列國從各地來攻擊牠，把他們的網撒在牠身上，把牠困在他們的坑中。

看哪！獅子怎樣從約旦河邊的叢林走上來，攻擊常綠的牧場，照樣，我必在眨眼之間把巴比倫趕走，使它離開這地；誰蒙揀選，我就派誰治理這地。誰能和我相比呢？誰可以把我傳來審訊呢？哪一個牧人能在我面前站立得住呢？”

這流人血的城，有禍了！全城欺詐，充滿劫掠；搶奪的事總不止息。

猶大是隻小獅子；我兒啊，你獵取了食物就上到洞穴去。他屈身伏臥，好像公獅，又像母獅，誰敢驚動他呢？

因為耶和華對我這樣說：“獅子和少壯獅子怎樣因捕獲獵物而咆哮，雖然召集了許多的牧人來攻擊牠們，牠們並不因他們的聲音而驚慌，也不因他們的喧嚷而蹲伏；照樣，萬軍之耶和華必降臨在錫安山和它的岡陵上爭戰。”

獅子從牠的密林中上來了，毀壞列國的已經動身，從他的本處出發，為要使你的地荒涼，使你的城市破毀，無人居住。

城中的領袖都是咆哮的獅子，城中的審判官是夜間的豺狼，甚麼都不留到早晨。
