大地悲哀衰殘，黎巴嫩羞愧且枯乾，沙崙好像曠野，巴珊和迦密必凋殘。

你的斥責一發，水就奔逃；你的雷聲一發，水就奔流。

滄海看見就奔逃，約旦河也倒流。

使海與深淵的水乾涸，在海的深處開路，使救贖的民走過的，不是你嗎？

我對深淵說：『乾了吧！我要使你的江河乾涸』；

我來的時候，為何沒有人呢？我呼喚的時候，為何無人回應呢？我的膀臂豈是過短、不能救贖嗎？我豈無拯救之力嗎？看哪，我一斥責，海就乾了；我使江河變為曠野，其中的魚因無水腥臭，乾渴而死。我使諸天以黑暗為衣，以麻布為遮蓋。」

耶穌說：「你們這些小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯呢？」於是他起來，斥責風和海，風和海就大大平靜了。

滄海啊，你為何奔逃？約旦哪，你為何倒流？

他說：「耶和華必從錫安吼叫，從耶路撒冷出聲；牧人的草場哀傷，迦密的山頂枯乾。」

你曾分裂泉源和溪流；使長流的江河枯乾。

當抬耶和華全地之主約櫃的祭司，腳掌踏入約旦河水裏的時候，約旦河的水，就是從上往下流的水，必然中斷，豎立成壘。」百姓起行離開帳棚過約旦河的時候，抬約櫃的祭司在百姓的前面。那時正是收割的日子，約旦河的水漲滿兩岸。抬約櫃的人到了約旦河，抬約櫃的祭司腳一入水邊，

海水枯竭，河流乾涸，江河發臭，埃及的河水必然減少而枯乾。蘆葦和蘆荻枯萎，尼羅河旁的植物，在尼羅河的沿岸，並尼羅河旁所種的一切全都枯焦，被風吹去，歸於無有。打魚的哀哭，所有在尼羅河釣魚的都必悲傷，在水上撒網的也都衰殘。以細緻的麻編織的必羞愧，織布的必變蒼白；織布的心情沮喪，所有的傭工心都愁煩。

那造昴星和參星，使死蔭變為晨光，使白晝變為黑夜，召喚海水、使其傾倒在地面上的，耶和華是他的名。

說：『你只可到這裏，不可越過；你狂傲的浪要到此止住。』

我要使江河乾涸，將這地賣在惡人手中；我要藉外國人的手，使這地和其中所充滿的變為荒蕪；這是我－耶和華說的。
