Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.

Look at the mountains of Judah! I see a messenger running to bring good news! He’s telling us that peace has come! People of Judah, celebrate your feasts. Carry out your promises. The evil Assyrians won’t attack you again. They’ll be completely destroyed.

Behold, upon the mountains, the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah; fulfill your vows, for never again shall the worthless pass through you; he is utterly cut off.

Look! A messenger is coming over the mountains with good news! He is bringing a message of peace. Celebrate your festivals, O people of Judah, and fulfill all your vows, for your wicked enemies will never invade your land again. They will be completely destroyed!

报好信息的锡安哪，要登高山；报好信息的耶路撒冷啊，要极力扬声。扬声不要惧怕，对犹大的城镇说：“看哪，你们的上帝！”看哪，主耶和华必以大能临到，他的膀臂必为他掌权；看哪，他的赏赐在他那里，他的报应在他面前。

那时，攻击亚利伊勒列国的军队，与一切攻击亚利伊勒和它城堡，并带给它患难的，必如梦，如夜间的异象；又像饥饿的人在梦中吃饭，醒了仍觉饥肠辘辘；或像口渴的人在梦中喝水，醒了仍觉发昏，心里想喝。攻击锡安山列国的军队也必如此。

上帝藉着耶稣基督—他是万有的主—传和平的福音，把这道传给以色列人。

“在至高之处荣耀归与上帝！在地上平安归与他所喜悦的人！”

那天使对他们说：“不要惧怕！看哪！因为我报给你们大喜的信息，是关乎万民的：

锡安哪，兴起！兴起！穿上你的能力！圣城耶路撒冷啊，穿上你华美的衣服！因为从今以后，未受割礼、不洁净的必不再进入你中间。

但愿人因耶和华的慈爱和他向人所做的奇事都称谢他。愿他们以感谢为祭献给他，欢呼述说他的作为！

耶和华的使者出去，在亚述营中杀了十八万五千人。清早有人起来，看哪，都是死尸。亚述王西拿基立就拔营回去，住在尼尼微。一日，他在他的神明尼斯洛庙里叩拜，他儿子亚得米勒和沙利色用刀杀了他，然后逃到亚拉腊地；他儿子以撒‧哈顿接续他作王。
