从那时起，耶稣才向门徒明说，他必须上耶路撒冷去，受长老、祭司长和文士许多的苦，并且被杀，第三天复活。

约拿三日三夜在大鱼肚腹中，同样，人子也要三日三夜在地里面。

又对他们说：“照经上所写的，基督必受害，第三天从死人中复活，

他们行路上耶路撒冷去。耶稣在前头走，他们很惊讶，跟从的人也害怕。耶稣又叫十二使徒来，把自己将要遭遇的事告诉他们，说：“看哪，我们上耶路撒冷去，人子将被交给祭司长和文士；他们要定他死罪，又交给外邦人。他们要戏弄他，向他吐唾沫，鞭打他，杀害他；三天后，他要复活。”

他们离开那地方，经过加利利；耶稣不愿意人知道，因为他正教导门徒说：“人子将要被交在人手里，他们要杀害他；被杀以后，三天后他要复活。”

说：“大人，我们记得那迷惑人的还活着的时候曾说：‘三天后我要复活。’

他不争吵，不喧嚷，街上也没有人听见他的声音。

耶稣对他说：“你要注意，不可告诉任何人，只要去，让祭司为你检查，并献上摩西所吩咐的祭物，作为证据给众人看。”
