从此，耶稣才指示门徒，他必须上耶路撒冷去，受长老、祭司长、文士许多的苦，并且被杀，第三日复活。

约拿三日三夜在大鱼肚腹中，人子也要这样三日三夜在地里头。

又对他们说：“照经上所写的，基督必受害，第三日从死里复活，

他们行路上耶路撒冷去。耶稣在前头走，门徒就希奇，跟从的人也害怕。耶稣又叫过十二个门徒来，把自己将要遭遇的事告诉他们说：“看哪，我们上耶路撒冷去，人子将要被交给祭司长和文士，他们要定他死罪，交给外邦人。他们要戏弄他，吐唾沫在他脸上，鞭打他，杀害他。过了三天，他要复活。”

他们离开那地方，经过加利利；耶稣不愿意人知道。于是教训门徒，说：“人子将要被交在人手里，他们要杀害他；被杀以后，过三天他要复活。”

“大人，我们记得那诱惑人的还活着的时候曾说：‘三日后我要复活。’

他不争竞，不喧嚷；街上也没有人听见他的声音。

耶稣对他说：“你切不可告诉人，只要去把身体给祭司察看，献上摩西所吩咐的礼物，对众人作证据。”
